 Zamfara Governor’s Wife Facilitates Marriage for 100 Orphans, Offers Support to Grooms The wife of the Zamfara State Governor, Huriyya Dauda Lawal, has overseen the marriage of 100 orphaned girls in the state. The brides, who were well cared for prior to the ceremony, received full attention for their beautification. Each bride’s dowry, amounting to 151,000 Naira, was covered by the Governor’s wife. In addition, Huriyya Dauda Lawal provided essential household items, including furniture such as cushions, beds, wardrobes, mattresses, and kitchen utensils. Furthermore, she offered financial assistance of N50,000 to each groom to help them start their businesses and achieve self-sufficiency. Hajiya Lawal encouraged the brides to respect their husbands and practice patience. She also assured them that the Zakkat and Endowment Board would be available to offer support should any marital issues arise.

  Following the Federal Government's directives on the harmonisation of citizens' data by relevant agencies, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) had in compliance with the directives earlier put members of the public on notice. As a follow up to that, FRSC Management has resolved that effective 21 December, 2020, all applicants for the National Driver's Licence in Nigeria must present the National Identification Number ( NIN) from the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) before they can be captured for any class of the licences produced by the FRSC. According to the press release signed by the Assistant Corps Marshal Bisi Kazeem, fsi, all driver's licence applicants are therefore, expected to present their National Identification Number from the date, before they can be attended to, adding that there would be no waiver for anyone.   Rivers State governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike says if universities must improve on the quality of graduates they turn out, teachers who do not possess the right qualification and problem-solving research capability should not be retained by universities. He has also suggested that universities curriculum must begin to address the issues of skills, linkages to industries and relevant competences for job creation or self-employment of the graduates. Governor Wike, made this assertion in his address at the 32 convocation and 40th anniversary of the Rivers State University, Port Harcourt on Tuesday. The Lagos State Government has empowered People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) in the State with equipment, training and start-up grants for self-establishment and economic independence. Making the presentation of sewing machines to beneficiaries on Tuesday, at the Head Office of Lagos State Aids Control Agency (LSACA), the Chief Executive Officer of the Agency, Dr. Monsurat Adeleke stated that the Agency will continue to give top priority to all the needs of HIV/AIDS clients in the State. She said, “As the pioneer agency for the management and control of HIV/AIDS in Nigeria, LSACA will continue to blaze the trail regarding the fight against the disease in Lagos by caring for People Living with HIV/AIDS”.
