 October 1 protest: Ogun court restricts protesters to MKO Abiola Stadium, three other venues A High Court sitting in Abeokuta, Ogun State, has restricted members of the #FearlessInOctober protest groups in the state to the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta, Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu; Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu Ode, and Ansar-Ud-Deen Comprehensive High School, Ota. The court presided by Tajudeen. A.Okunsokan gave this order following an application brought by the Attorney-General of Ogun State in suit no AB/667/2024, and with Messers Afolabi Adeboye, Ifemosu Michael, Lekan Soneye (for themselves and members of the#FearlessInOctober protests); Bestman Okereafor (on behalf of the Progressive Students Movement), Francis Adeyanju (on behalf of the National Association of Nigerian Students) and Thomas Kehinde (on behalf of the National Association of Ogun Students), as respondents. PRESIDENT MUGABE AT 92,JUST BECAME A GRANDFATHER.

                                             92 year old President of Zimbabwe Robert Mugabe,just became a grandfather for the first time,as he confirmed that his daughter had given birth to a baby boy in Mid-April.Even though the news of Mugabe becoming a grandfather leaked a few weeks ago,there had been no official confirmation from the first family of Zimbabwe.Mugabe,who visited his maternal unless in Masvingo Province over the weekend,said that the child was still in a Far East country,presumably Singapore,where it was born,accompanied by the 26 year old mother Bona and First Lady Grace Mugabe.They are expected to return home,bringing the baby to his grand father in mid May.More photos below.

THE WIFE OF A POPULAR COMEDIAN,WAS KIDNAPPED FROM THEIR HOUSE YESTERDAY IN RIVERS STATE.

                         Gunmen yesterday sunday abducted the wife of a popular Comedian cum politician,Mr Mike Ogbolosingha,in Port Harcourt,Rivers State.The Ogbolosinghas hail from Bayelsa but are residing in Eliparanwon area of Port Harcourt.Speaking today monday,the popular stand-up comedian,told reporters that the gunmen stormed their Eliparanwon residence yesterday sunday and abducted his wife,Mrs Chime Mike Ogbolosingha.He said the kidnappers who were about six in number also went away with valuable items from the house.He said the kidnappers have not established contact with him or any member of his family.While pleading with the abductors to release his wife unconditionally,Ogbolosingha said he has alerted the police of the incident.One more photo below.

                        Ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo today monday gave the advice in Lagos in his address as Chairman of a two-day stakeholder's conference on the maritime industry.The formal president blamed the demise of the Nigerian National Shipping Line {NNSL}.H said ''NNSL had been liquidated,they tried Nigeria Unity Line,it collapsed.Nineteen brand new ships were specially built for Nigeria,e did not take delivery of some of them until i left office in 1979.When i came back in 1999,NNSL had been liquidated with all the 19 ships gone as well as the five ships in existence.two of the ships were missing for almost two years and it was discovered that one military man was using them all over the world and no accountability''.The former president urged the present administration to ''think out of the box and come up with what should be done to grow the maritime industry.Until NIMASA became a source of where people steal money,nobody knew too much about i

                                   Lagos State Governor.Mr Akinwunmi Ambode yesterday sunday identified dysfunctional family background as one of the major reasons for rising cases of domestic violence,just as he advocated the need for parents to imbibe in their wards the virtues of honesty,respect,morality,good neighborliness,peace and love.Governor Ambode,who spoke at the Lagos House at the family day celebration hosted by the State Government in commemoration of the International Family Day,also said a lot of acts of terror and violence that have ruptured global peace and security could be traced to the absence of strong family ties,and as such parents must spend time with their children no matter how difficult it may be.The Governor described the family as the smallest but most important unit of the society,saying things can only go right in the country if first addressed in the family.He said ''Most of the recorded incidence of domestic violence are as a result of dysfunct
