PSC PROMOTES OVER 8,000 POLICE OFFICERS. (PHOTO).

 PSC Promotes Over 8,000 Police Officers On Wednesday, the Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of 8,053 senior police officers. Earlier in the week, 11 Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police (CPs). Additionally, 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) were promoted to DCPs, and 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) moved up to Assistant Commissioners (ACPs). According to a statement by the PSC's spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the total number of promotions included 1,348 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to Chief Superintendents, 876 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) promoted to Superintendents, and 5,829 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) promoted to DSPs. 3-MEN BAG ONE YEAR EACH FOR ROMANCE SCAM IN IIORIN.{PHOTOS}.

       The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ilorin Zonal Office on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 secured the conviction of three persons charged on offences bordering on romance scam. The convicts are, Akeem Mustapha (alias Patricia Cuppa), Abolarin Sunday (alias Cindy Holland), and Murtala Abdulrasheed (alias Cindy Holland). They were convicted and sentenced to one year imprisonment by a Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilori n by Justice Mustapha Abdulgafar. They pleaded “guilty” to the one-count amended charge levelled against them by the anti-graft agency.      The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, has called on religious leaders to partner with anti-graft agency in the fight against corruption.   Magu made the call during an interactive session he had with senior Islamic Scholars and Christian leaders in Kano, on June 25, 2019. “It is my view that all religions prohibit corruption, which is why I thought it wise to engage religious groups, because they have easy reach-out to the public,” he said. He also told them that fighting corruption cannot be won if only the government is fighting it. “All stakeholders need to take the ownership of the fight because fighting corruption needs multi-dimensional approach,” he said.       The Lagos State Ministry of Education has announced new dates for the 2019/2020 Entrance Examinations into the State Model Colleges and Upgraded Schools, the Placement Test into JSS 1 in all Public Secondary Schools across the State and the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). According to a release by the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Mrs. Olatokunboh Adel eye, the examinations are aimed at testing the applicants’ academic capabilities for their choice of classes in the State-owned Schools. She stated that the new dates for the examinations are as follows: BECE: Monday 15th -Tuesday, 23rd July 2019; Computer-Based Screening Test (CBT) is scheduled for Monday 15th - Friday, 19th July 2019, while the Paper Pencil Test (PPT) will hold on Saturday, 20th July 2019. For the purpose of clarity, and the records it is pertinent to state that Prof. Osinbajo was entirely misquoted and his words taken out of context in the said media reports especially those that quoted him as saying that "Kidnapping in Nigeria is exaggerated and not entirely new" Nowhere in the Vice President's remarks at the townhall meeting with the Nigerian community did he use the word "exaggerated," not even by implication.
