PSC PROMOTES OVER 8,000 POLICE OFFICERS. (PHOTO).

 PSC Promotes Over 8,000 Police Officers On Wednesday, the Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of 8,053 senior police officers. Earlier in the week, 11 Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police (CPs). Additionally, 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) were promoted to DCPs, and 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) moved up to Assistant Commissioners (ACPs). According to a statement by the PSC's spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the total number of promotions included 1,348 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to Chief Superintendents, 876 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) promoted to Superintendents, and 5,829 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) promoted to DSPs.                In line with the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General TY Buratai’s determination of rotating overstayed troops operating in the northeast as part of Operation LAFIYA DOLE, soldiers of 29 Battalion based in Port Harcourt, have been rotated and returned to their main unit amidst cheers and jubilation from their families and colleagues. The troops have served in various units under Operation LAFIYA DOLE w here they contributed immensely to the successes of routing out and defeat of the Boko Haram terrorists in the North East. 4 EXPECTANT MOTHERS DIED OF HEPATITIS {E} AT IDPs CAMP IN NGALA,BORNO TODAY.

            Medicine Sans Frontiers otherwise known as ‘Doctors Without Borders’, on Friday said that four expectant mothers had died of Hepatitis (E) infection at the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp,Ngala, Borno. The organisation also said that 400 other displaced persons including women and children were infected with the disease in the camp.A statement signed by Musa Yahaya, the MSF Field Communication Officer, and released in Maiduguri, said hundreds of persons were infected following the spread of the disease from the Niger Republic.The organisation estimated that there were about 45, 000 displaced persons at the Ngala camp, of Ngala Local Government Area of the state.Hepatitis E or liver inflammation is a viral disease caused by infection with a virus called hepatitis Evirus. KWARA GOVERNMENT DENIES DISEASE OUTBREAK IN ORO AGO COMMUNITY TODAY.

               The Kwara State government has denied reports of alleged outbreak of a mystery illness that claimed 70 lives in Oro-Ago community in Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state. The State’s Commissioner for Health, Alhaji Suleiman Alege, on Friday told newsmen in Ilorin, that the report is a mere rumor as the ministry has no confirmed outbreak of disease or fatalities in any part of the state. He noted that there are epidemiological systems for reporting suspected disease outbreak in the state and that if any occurs, the State Health Response team would be the first to know and is always ready to swing into action. The Commissioner recalled that when there were reported cases of Cholera in some communities in the State, the State government immediately deployed emergency kits to the affected areas and also commenced vaccination in most of the state primary healthcare centers to forestall outbreak of an epidemic.                   Anti-smuggling operations of NCS has continue to yeild more results as CGC Compliance Team and Roving Team of the Federal Operations Unit Zone 'A', while on credible information patrol trailed and evacuated 37 assorted vehicles smuggled into the country via unapproved routes. the smuggled vehicles includes: 8 Lexus Jeep LX 570 (2017 model), 12 Land Crusier Jeep (2017 model), 17 Toyota Hilux (2016, 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010 and 2009 models respectively).More photos below.

                                                      Bianca Ojukwu’s sister, Ambassador Lilian Onoh, was yesterday, 10th August 2017, received by the President of Namibia, as Nigeria’s ambassador and High Commissioner to the Republic of Namibia. The ceremony took place at the State House at the Nations Capital,Windhoek. Prior to this engagement, She had been Nigeria’s Acting High Commissioner to Jamaica. Ambassador Lilian Onoh is the sister of Bianca Ojukwu, Nigeria’s former ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain.                 Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode on Thursday said that the first set of 5000 brand new buses under the Bus Reform Initiative, a brain child of his administration, would be flagged off within the next six months. Governor Ambode, who spoke when students of the prestigious Harvard Kennedy School of Government, United States of America, paid him a courtesy visit at the Lagos House in Ikeja, said that his administration was working round the clock to revolutionalise the transportation system in the State and improve the way and manner 23 million Lagosians commute daily.
