 M23 says hundreds of Burundi soldiers captured in latest Congo offensive The Rwanda-backed M23 group has captured hundreds of Burundian soldiers during its latest offensive in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, a rebel official said, as clashes continued despite a warning from the Trump administration. Last week M23 entered the strategic town of Uvira near the border with Burundi, less than a week after the presidents of Congo and Rwanda met in Washington with U.S. President Donald Trump and affirmed their commitment to a peace deal known as the Washington Accords. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Saturday that Rwanda's actions in eastern Congo violated the Washington Accords and vowed to "take action to ensure promises made to the President are kept". Rwanda denies supporting M23 and has blamed Congolese and Burundian forces for the renewed fighting.                      Alice Ramsey,is the first woman to drive an automobile across the United States in 1909.The cars at that time had a top speed of approximately 15 mile per hour and most of the roads were very rough and primitive compared to modern day highways .It took 59 days for Alice Ramsey  and her 3 traveling companions to drive from New York to San Francisco.Alice Ramsey was born Alice Taylor Huyler.She was a 22 year old house wife and mother from Hackensack,New Jersey who began a 3,800 mile journey from Hell's Gate in Manhattan,New York t San Fransico,Carlifornia in a green Maxwell 30 on her 59 day trek.She was accompanied by two older sisters inlaw and another female friend,none of them could drive a car except her.The drive was originally meant as a publicity stunt for Maxwell Briscoa,the car maker at that time,because women were not encouraged to drive cars.Ramsey was named the ''Woman motorist of the century'' by...

                     According to sources,Somalia's parliamentary speaker has withdrawn an impeachment motion brought against President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud the latest crisis to threaten the country's stability as it struggles to rebound from two decades of chaos and war.Somalia lawmakers last month filed the motion against Mohamud,accusing him of abuse of office and betraying the country.Mohamud has said he is committed to holding elections before his term runs out in August 2016.''We have dropped the motion against the president parliament speaker Mohamed Sheikh Osman Jawari said late yesterday friday,adding that he had convened a meeting on October 7 to try to resolve the issues raised in the motion.Jawary said he made his decision because the majority of parliament's 275 lawmakers wanted the motion resolved through dialogue.''This also came after considering the political security and economic situation of the country and the s...

                 According to the Executive Secretary,Gombe state Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board,Alhaji Usman Gurama told newsmen in Mina,Saudi Arabia today saturday that five pilgrims from Gombe state have been declared missing in Saudi Arabia and the pilgrims could not be located since thursday.He said that members of the medical team had been checking hospitals and mortuaries with a view to locating them or their remains.He however said that for now,it had not been confirmed as to whether they were among those who died as a result of thursday's incident at the stone throwing venue called ''Jamrat'',where over 700 pilgrims died.Gurama confirmed that seven pilgrims from the state were injured at the scene of the incident and were responding to treatment.Meanwhile the Governor of Gombe state Ibrahim Dankwambo,today saturday gave the sate pilgrims 585,300 {N32.7 million } as Sallah gift.Each pilgrims had received 300 Saudi Riyals {N16,800}.
