 October 1 protest: Ogun court restricts protesters to MKO Abiola Stadium, three other venues A High Court sitting in Abeokuta, Ogun State, has restricted members of the #FearlessInOctober protest groups in the state to the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta, Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu; Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu Ode, and Ansar-Ud-Deen Comprehensive High School, Ota. The court presided by Tajudeen. A.Okunsokan gave this order following an application brought by the Attorney-General of Ogun State in suit no AB/667/2024, and with Messers Afolabi Adeboye, Ifemosu Michael, Lekan Soneye (for themselves and members of the#FearlessInOctober protests); Bestman Okereafor (on behalf of the Progressive Students Movement), Francis Adeyanju (on behalf of the National Association of Nigerian Students) and Thomas Kehinde (on behalf of the National Association of Ogun Students), as respondents. NIGERIA WON CAMEROON 4-0 IN A FOOTBALL MATCH TODAY.#CONGRATULATIONS NIGERIA.

            Nigeria’s Super Eagles won neighbours Cameroon Lions 4-0 to register a decisive win in their bid for qualification for the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Two of the goals were scored in the first half, while the other two were scored in the second half. Odion Ighalo opened scoring in the 29th minute.  Captain Mikel Obi added the second goal  two minutes before the break. Victor Moses curled in the third goal outside of the box in the 56th minute and substitute  Kelechi Iheanacho extended the score line on 77th minute later. Nigeria now lead their group B with nine points. Cameroon have two points.   Algeria and Zambia have one point each.

OIL THEFT: COURT REMANDS 9 FOREIGNERS,2 NIGERIANS IN PRISON IN PORT-HARCOURT.{PHOTOS}.

                     Justice J.K Omotosho of the Federal High Court Sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State has remanded nine foreigners and two Nigerians in Port Harcourt's prison for alleged oil theft. The suspect are Mohammed Ejaz, Naseer Khan (Pakistani), Oleksandr Nazarenko, Oleksandr kashernvi (Ukrainians), Romeo Annang, Francis Ahorlu, Kwesi Attah( Ghanaians), Victor Mikpayi (Beninois ), Fredrik Fatin Omenu (Indonesian), Victor Azebiri, David Otuhohi (Nigerians) and a Company: Asztral Shipping Corporation SA, and a Vessel, MT. TECNE( a.k.a MT STAR). They were remanded pending arraignment and hearing of a 4-count charge bordering on conspiracy, dealing in petroleum products without a license and tampering with oil pipelines.One more photo below.

NIGERIAN BRIDE DIES JUST 11 DAYS AFTER WEDDING.{PHOTOS}.

             A Nigerian man is mourning following the reported loss of his wife just 11 days after their wedding. According to Reporters, a bride has reportedly lost her life just few days after getting married. The couple Zalman and Salim Sodangi got married in Abuja on the 19th of August. Sadly, Zainab passed away on Tuesday, August 29th. A friend, Maryam Musa hinted about the woman’s death saying: “She lost zainab today in the afternoon.” Family and friends have taken to social media to mourn the sad death of the woman.One more photo below.

              Based on received information abo ut the location of some suspected top Boko Haram terrorists’ leaders, the Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Air Force have been carrying out heavy artillery bombardments and air interdictions on registered targets that have killed a large number of Boko Haram terrorists including some of the group’s key leaders. The Nigerian Army artillery using Multi-Barrel Rocket Launchers has lobbed many rockets over the suspected location the terrorists’ leaders are hiding.              A 30-year-old Russian woman facing the death penalty in Vietnam for being a cocaine mule has fingered her Nigerian boyfriend. Maria Dapirka, who has already written a ‘farewell letter’ to her mother, claims she was set up by her lover who posed as a top footballer. Her lawyers have said she has accepted she may soon be executed, but still clings on to some hope she will be freed after th ree years in prison. Dapirka, who lived in Thailand when she met her lover, known as Nick, was caught with almost 3kg of cocaine by Vietnamese customs on a flight from Singapore. She said the cocaine was planted in her luggage by Nick — or ‘Chib Eze’ — who apparently has a penchant for seducing attractive young women before conning them into carrying drugs. Dapirka’s verdict and sentence was due to be handed down by a Vietnamese judge on Thursday in a Ho Chi Minh city court, but the session was postponed ‘for further investigation’ for the fifth time.                             Thirteen suspected oil thieves are being interrogated in Port Harcourt, Rivers State by operatives of the EFCC in connection with their alleged involvement in illegal oil bunkering. The suspects: Jude Egwu; Ebi Akoto; Philip Orinya; Friday Ikuonu; Chuks Oyibona; Peter Ogunfuyi; Udak Esang; Roman Omiyenye; Augustine Jagun; Mike Obasi; John Camday, Elvis Egbule and Salvation Rowland were handed over to the EFCC, alongside five wooden boats, a vessel: MT PREYE 1, a tugboat: PKII and a barge: NAOMI 0 by the Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) PATHFINDER in Rumuolumeni, Port Harcourt, for further investigation and prosecution.More photos below.

PRESIDENT BUHARI DIRECTS EMERGENCY RESPONSE TO BENUE FLOODING; SYMPATHISES WITH AFFECTED COMMUNITIES.#PRESS RELEASE.

        President Muhammadu Buhari has received with great concern reports of the flooding in Benue State, which, according to early estimates, has affected thousands of homes and displaced more than 100,000 persons in 12 local government areas. Consequently, the President has directed the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to immediately mobilize personnel and resources to come to the aid of the victims of the flooding. The President is closely monitoring the situation, and will be receiving regular updates on the scale of the disaster, as well as the Federal Government's humanitarian response. The President extends his sympathies to the Government and people of Benue State, and assures that the Federal Government will make available any assistance needed to enable the State Government and the affected communities cope with and surmount the impact of the flooding.
