Abia State Community Policing Vigilante has arrested an electric cable thief, simply identified as Samuel, while vandalizing power installations along Isi Court-Ikputu road in Isiala Ngwa area. While two out of the three thieves escaped with their operational tricycle, the leader of the syndicate identified as Samuel, from Ebonyi State was apprehended by the Community Policing Vigilante. The arrest of the suspect was made known by the Commander of Abia State Community Policing Vigilante in the area, K.C. Martins. Martins, who said that efforts have been intensified by his men to arrest the two fleeing members of the criminal gang, commended Governor Alex Otti’s administration’s determination protecting the lives and property of the people in the State. Nigeria’s representative at the Shot Put event of the ongoing Tokyo Olympic Games, Chukwuebuka Enekwechi, revealed that he was only given one kit for the Games. Enekwechi, on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, had a toss of 21.16 meters to finish seventh in qualifying and advance to the final as one of the best 12 competitors.   Ahead of the final, Big Chuk as he is fondly called took to his TikTok to shared a video of himself washing his kit. “When you made the Olympic Finals but you only have one jersey,” he wrote on the video, which has caused an uproar on social media.  Born and raised in America, Enekwechi chose to represent Nigeria and is the 2018 Commonwealth Games Silver medallist and reigning African Champion in the Shot Put. Nigerian Bronze-winning Olympian Ese Brume has dedicated her win to famous Nigerian preacher Bishop David Oyedepo.   Brume won Nigeria's first medal at the Tokyo Olympic Games with a third-place finish in the Women's Long Jump final, which gave her a Bronze Medal. Just before her jump, the Delta State-born athlete was captured muttering to herself; "God of David Oyedepo, I want to do this." She finished in a podium place for Team Nigeria and dedicated the win to her preacher.   "This medal means a lot to me. It doesn't matter the colour. First I dedicate it to Bishop Oyedepo and I plan to decorate him with the medal later," Brume said. "I'm super excited that I made it to the top three at the Olympics. Honestly, I can't contend with my joy." Bishop Oyedepo is the founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, popularly known as Winners' Chapel. An Oyo State High Court has granted an ex-parte motion stopping the Department of State Security and Attorney General of the Federation from arresting, intimidating, harassing, and blocking the bank accounts of Yoruba Nation agitator, Chief Sunday Adeyemo aka Sunday Igboho. Justice Ladiean Akintola gave the order following an ex-parte motion moved by his lawyer Chief Yomi Aliu (SAN) at the court on Wednesday. “The court has ordered that he must not be arrested, detained, killed in the next 14 days. 10-Year-Old Katsina Vigilante, Abdulkadir Wields Gun To Face Bandits  A picture of a 10-year-old boy in Katsina State, identified as Bello Abdulkadir Ado, holding a gun as a security personnel to combat the ravaging bandits has surfaced on the social media. The photograph has, however, attracted mixed reactions from Nigerians. According to reports, Ado is a member of a local vigilante group in the Safana Local Government Area of the state. The Lagos State Government has announced the diversion of traffic on Apapa-Oshodi Expressway for repair work on the Airport Flyover Bridge by the Federal Ministry of Works from August 9 to October 3, 2021, A statement signed by the Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde, explained that the Oshodi-bound lane would be barred from vehicular movement from midnight on 9th August, 2021 and reopened partially on the midnight of 14th August, 2021 for the first phase of repairs. He stated that the second phase will commence immediately for a duration of \seven weeks to hasten the rehabilitation works, stressing that motorists will be diverted from the main carriageway to the service lane of the Oshodi bound lane for the first five days.  A lady and her sister have been arrested by operatives of the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly poisoning her husband over suspicions of infidelity. The suspect, whose name was given as Matilda, and her sister have since remained in custody followingthe death of her husband, Emem Etim Marley in Ajah, Lagos. According to RNN Nigeria, Matilda had found another woman’s picture on her husband’s phone and suspected him of infidelity. She allegedly connived with her sister to poison him on Sunday, Aug 1. Justice J.Awak of the Gombe State High Court, Gombe on August 2, 2021 convicted and sentenced one Ahmed Mohammed Mu'azu to three months imprisonment on one-count charge of attempt to impersonate officials of National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA). The offence is contrary to Section 95 and Punishable under the same Section of Penal Code Law. The defendant  sometime in 2019, under the guise of empowering the youths through a  Non-Governmental Organization, '' Youth Empowerment Capacity Building Organization of Nigeria'', Gombe branch promised unsuspecting members of the public training opportunities at NITDA, charging  N1,000 (One Thousand Naira) per participant. Unfortunately, before he could execute his nefarious scheme, operatives of the Commission, arrested him in a sting operation facilitated through credible intelligence. Hopefully no chemo or radiation afterthis and I should have normal function with my breathing. I should be up and and running around as usual in a month or less.It's been a helluva 4 years ,trying to get back to work,making you guys laugh and entertaining you,but I'm gonna be just fine,of course I am fully vaccinated for covid.
