PSC PROMOTES OVER 8,000 POLICE OFFICERS. (PHOTO).

 PSC Promotes Over 8,000 Police Officers On Wednesday, the Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of 8,053 senior police officers. Earlier in the week, 11 Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police (CPs). Additionally, 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) were promoted to DCPs, and 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) moved up to Assistant Commissioners (ACPs). According to a statement by the PSC's spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the total number of promotions included 1,348 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to Chief Superintendents, 876 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) promoted to Superintendents, and 5,829 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) promoted to DSPs. AARE ONA KAKANFO CAP FITS GANI ADAMS-FAYOSE.

       Ekiti State Governor, Chief Ayodele Fayose, has said the title of the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland being conferred on the Leader of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC), Otunba Gani Adams by the Alaafin of Oyo, Kabiyesi Iku Baba Yeye Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, is putting a round peg in a round hole. Fayose said he has no doubt that the cap fits Adams going by the pedigree of the recipient of the prestigious title. He stated this in a message to congratulate Adams on Wednesday in Ado-Ekiti through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Idowu Adelusi. According to the governor, Oba Adeyemi made the right choice in the appointment of Adams as the Generalissimo of the Oyo Empire. EFCC NOT INVESTIGATING OGUN GOVERNOR ''AMOSUN''.

          The attention of the EFCC has been drawn to reports in the social media purporting that the Commission recently stormed the basement of the Ikeja, Lagos residence of Senator Ibikunle Amosun, governor of Ogun State, where cash in local and foreign currencies are said to have been stashed in a vault.   The report quoting ghost sources in the Commission further alleged that the Commission had been on the trail of the governor for two weeks before the purported raid. It is important to state that there is no truth in the report. Governor Amosun was neither under surveillance nor was any of his residence raided by operatives of the EFCC. Consequently, members of the public are enjoined to disregard the false report.

        Justice Babatunde Quadri of the Federal High Court sitting in Maitama, Abuja has adjourned to November 15 and 16, 2017 the N1.35billion fraud trial of erstwhile governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido. This adjournment was at the instance of Lamido’s new counsel, Kanu Agabi, SAN. “My Lord, I wish to appeal for an adjournment to familiarize myself with the facts of this case. This is my first time of appearing before this honourable court in this matter”, Agabi pleaded.

LAGOS STATE COMMENCES JOB FAIR FOR THE UNEMPLOYED.{PHOTOS}.

        The Lagos State Government has initiated a job fair for the unemployed graduates as part of efforts to harness available job opportunities in the private sector and small businesses in the state. Speaking at the Ikorodu Job Fair, the Commissioner, Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment, Mr. Babatunde Durosinmi-Etti said the Job Fair is part of the Graduate Internship Programme recently inaugurated by the Lagos State Government fo r the Unemployed Graduates under the age of 30 years in the State. He informed that the fair was designed to bring together the Off- Takers (Potential Employers) and the Interns together in an enabling environment for effective communication and to also manage the expectations of both the off- Takers and the Interns.       The Duchess of Cornwall has had a busy week, full of engagements. On Monday, HRH attended the Women of the Year Lunch, where she gave a speech:  "You all represent, not only yourselves and your own achievements, but also the millions of remarkable women who make a difference every day." On Tuesday, HRH launched a new campaign with the Royal Voluntary Service  # OurAmazingPeople  (with a little help from Brian Blessed and Felicity Kendal amongst others!) In the evening, HRH presented George Saunders with the  # ManBooker2017  Prize for his novel Lincoln in the Bardo. Finally, today The Duchess opened the new Sultan Nazrin Shah Centre at Worcester College,  University of Oxford .More photos below.

EX-PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA PICKS NIGERIAN KEHINDE WILEY TO PAINT HIS OFFICIAL PRESIDENTIAL PORTRAIT.{PHOTOS}.

         Former U. S. president Barack Obama, has picked Nigeria’s Kehinde Wiley, to paint his official presidential portrait. The Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery while making the announcement said Wiley is an exciting choice for the presidential portrait. Wiley, a hip-hop portraitist is known for lush, larger-than-life portraits that overlay black street culture with European classical motifs. The 40 year-old New York-based artist, born to a Nigerian father and an African American mother, will have a novel spin on the traditionally formal composition. Wiley has painted rappers LL Cool J in the style of John Singer Sargent, Ice T as Emperor Napoleon by David and young African American men in stained glass tableaus, like saints in a cathedral. The background of his paintings reference African cloth patterns, snaking through the composition to give further clues on his subject. PARENTS ARE ADVISED NOT TO PANIC & REFRAIN FROM WITHDRAWING THEIR WARDS FROM SCHOOL-KWARA STATE GOVERNOR.

       It has come to the notice of the Kwara State Government that certain individuals are spreading rumours about soldiers injecting school pupils in Omu-Aran, Irepodun Local Area of the State. The general public is hereby advised to ignore such rumours as neither the Nigerian Army nor any other security agency is currently undertaking a vaccination exercise or any other health campaign in any part of the State. Members of the public, particularly parents, are advised not panic and to refrain from withdrawing their wards from schools based on this unfounded rumour.
