APPLE'S STATEMENT ON MINERALS MUST BE 'VERIFIED'-DRC. (PHOTO).

 Apple's statement on minerals must be 'verified': DRC International lawyers for the Democratic Republic of Congo welcomed Apple's decision to stop sourcing minerals from there due to worsening conflict, but said they would press ahead with their cases against the company in Europe. Criminal complaints were filed against Apple subsidiaries in France and Belgium this week on behalf of DR Congo, accusing the tech firm of using conflict minerals in its supply chain, Reuters reported. DR Congo is a major source of tin, tantalum and tungsten, so-called 3T minerals used in computers and mobile phones. But some artisanal mines are run by armed groups involved in massacres, rapes and other crimes, say UN experts and rights groups. 'Satisfaction and caution' Apple said on Tuesday that it strongly disputes the claims and has told suppliers they must not use the minerals in question sourced from DR Congo or Rwanda.       The Benin Zonal office of the EFCC, today October 31, 2019 secured the convictions of two internat fraudsters who were arraigned on a one count charge each of engaging in computer phishing before Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court sitting in Warri, Delta State. . . The Fraudsters, Osaghale Collins and Nwabudike Stephen Emefiele ( a.k.a. Kelvin Luiz, Kelvin Wonglee, Nelson Davis, James Sanchez, Maria Wanye) were said to have intentionally engaged in phishing, an offence contrary to section 32(1) of the Cybercrime (prohibition prevention etc) Act, 2015.More photos below.

       Lagos State Governor Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Thursday paid a condolence visit to the family of the late former Military Administrator of the State, Brigadier Mobolaji Johnson (Rtd), who passed away on Wednesday evening. At exactly 6:19pm, a high-powered delegation led by Sanwo-Olu was received by family members at the deceased’s residence in Ilupeju. The Governor was accompanied by his Chief of Staff, Mr. Tayo Ayinde, Head of Service, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola, and an All Progressives Congress (APC) leader in Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Prince Bayo Osiyemi. Olufunmilayo Osifuye has declared that obtaining a Development Permit is a must before any construction commences in any part of the State, asserting that it is also compulsory to submit a building plan for government approval irrespective of the type of such development. ANAMBRA GOVERNMENT BANS MOVEMENT OF FUEL TANKERS DURING THE DAY.{PHOTOS}.

       The Anambra state government has banned the movement of fuel tankers during the daytime following the fatal incidents witnessed in the state in recent times. Anambra state's Commissioner for Information, Don Adinuba said fuel tankers are only allowed to move within the state from 8 p.m. to 5a.m. He added that the restriction is to enable agencies like the Anambra State Fire Service, the Nigeria Police Force, the Federal Road Safety Corps, the Civil Defence, the Anambra Traffic Management Agency and other agencies to respond effectively and in good time.
