 PSC Promotes Over 8,000 Police Officers On Wednesday, the Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of 8,053 senior police officers. Earlier in the week, 11 Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police (CPs). Additionally, 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) were promoted to DCPs, and 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) moved up to Assistant Commissioners (ACPs). According to a statement by the PSC's spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the total number of promotions included 1,348 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to Chief Superintendents, 876 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) promoted to Superintendents, and 5,829 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) promoted to DSPs. Police Arrest Four-man Sex Blackmail Syndicate In Anambra   The Police Command in Anambra has arrested four suspected members of a syndicate, two males and two females who extort money from people through blackmail.   DSP Ikenga Toochukwu, Police Public Relations Officer who disclosed this in a statement on Thursday said they specialised in taking nude pictures of victims and threaten to post them online unless they paid money.   Ikenga gave the identities of the suspects as Okechukwu Ogoejiofor, 36, Nonso Nwizu, 34, Esther Nwafor lfeanyichukwu, 21 and Obianuju Nduba, 20.   He said the victims were arrested at Ajakpani village, Umunya in Oyi Local Government Area for alleged conspiracy, demanding with menaces and stealing.   The PPRO said the suspects used social media to lure their unsuspecting male victims into fake love/friendship affairs and thereafter take them to a room where they engage them in foreplay.   According to him, Obianuju Nduba engaged the...
