PSC PROMOTES OVER 8,000 POLICE OFFICERS. (PHOTO).

 PSC Promotes Over 8,000 Police Officers On Wednesday, the Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of 8,053 senior police officers. Earlier in the week, 11 Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police (CPs). Additionally, 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) were promoted to DCPs, and 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) moved up to Assistant Commissioners (ACPs). According to a statement by the PSC's spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the total number of promotions included 1,348 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to Chief Superintendents, 876 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) promoted to Superintendents, and 5,829 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) promoted to DSPs.   Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun says the State, as an industrial hub of the country, will need an increase supply of electricity to unlock more of its economic potentials and attract more investors to the State. Governor Abiodun who stated this at the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the State Government and a British Power Firm, Konexa, in his office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, said as a leading industrial State, there was need for the State to have constant power supply at all times to serve existing companies and attract new ones. The Governor opined that there was a nexus between industrial development as large, medium and small scale businesses rely on power to thrive, adding that self sufficiency in electricity would encourage artisans to venture into small businesses which would in future boost the industrial capacity of the State.   The 55MW CCETC-Ossiomo Independent Power Plant in Benin City has commenced power supply in the state with the lighting up of the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, a feat that has now opened up the electricity market in Edo State to drive industrial growth and attract private investors. Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Communication Strategy, Mr. Crusoe Osagie, said the commencement of power supply from the plant in Ologbo, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area has set the state on a path to becoming a hub for high-impact industries that require stable power to perform optimally.   Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, has redeemed his pledge of N20 Million to each family of the ten security personnel killed by members of proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, (IPOB) in Oyigbo Local Government. Governor Wike had on Wednesday last week during a condolence visit to the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Joseph Mukan, announced the donation of N20MILLION to each family of the four policemen and six Army killed by IPOB members in Oyigbo. The cheques were presented to the bereaved widows at the State Police Command and 6 Division, Nigerian Army, in Port Harcourt, respectively on Tuesday. Governor Wike said the gesture is in fulfilment of his earlier promise to alleviate the plight of the widows and their children.   As Patron of the The Poppy Factory , The Duchess of Cornwall today attended the 92nd Field of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey . The Field of Remembrance has taken place since November 1928, to commemorate those who have lost their lives in the Armed Forces. Originally, the Poppy Factory took a group of wounded veterans, a tray of poppies and a collecting tin to the grounds of St Margaret’s Church at Westminster Abbey. Only a handful of poppies were planted around a single cross, but now tens of thousands of poppies are planted every year. The Poppy Factory has been making poppies for The Royal British Legion and The Royal Family since 1922. Their 24 strong factory team is made up of veterans and the dependents of veterans, some of whom have worked at the factory for over 40 years making Remembrance products.
