APPLE'S STATEMENT ON MINERALS MUST BE 'VERIFIED'-DRC. (PHOTO).

 Apple's statement on minerals must be 'verified': DRC International lawyers for the Democratic Republic of Congo welcomed Apple's decision to stop sourcing minerals from there due to worsening conflict, but said they would press ahead with their cases against the company in Europe. Criminal complaints were filed against Apple subsidiaries in France and Belgium this week on behalf of DR Congo, accusing the tech firm of using conflict minerals in its supply chain, Reuters reported. DR Congo is a major source of tin, tantalum and tungsten, so-called 3T minerals used in computers and mobile phones. But some artisanal mines are run by armed groups involved in massacres, rapes and other crimes, say UN experts and rights groups. 'Satisfaction and caution' Apple said on Tuesday that it strongly disputes the claims and has told suppliers they must not use the minerals in question sourced from DR Congo or Rwanda.                          Today sunday,President of Nigeria Muhammmadu Buhari visit the survivng victims of friday bomb blast in Abuja ''Nyanya and Kuje''.He visited the victims where they were receiving treatment at the Trauma Centre of the National Hospital where he wished them speed recovery,promosed them that the Federal Government will take full responsibility for settling their medical bills.He also directed his Chief of Staff Mallam Abba Kyari to settle the N268,790.00 medical bill of a young girl in the Paediatric ward of the hospital.The girl's mother Deborah Stephen had broken into tears on seeing President Buhari.She told him that her daughter had been shot by armed robbers who raided their home and that the family could not afford the medical bills.The president who was accompanied by his personal aides and Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun state,visited the intensive care unit,the paediatric unit and general war...

CITIZENS OF BURUNDI,BLAMED THEIR POLICEMEN FOR THE 8 PEOPLE THAT DIED YESTERDAY.

                      It was reported today sunday that yesterday saturday afternoon,at least eight people died in shooting that took place overnight in Burundi.Local residents told newsmen that the police were behind the killings and haf been accompanied by unamed members of the rulling CNDD[FDD party's youth wing[Imonerakure,who stole items such as mobile phone from houses.Residents also said most of the dead were civilians and that some had been found with their hands tied behind their backs.Deputy Police spokesman Pierre Nkurikiye denied that officers had beed involved in the killings and said those responsible were criminals whom the police were pursuing.Remy Barampama,the head of Ntahangwa district in which Mutakura and Cibitoke fall said ''In total eight people have been killed,six in Cibitoke and Mutakura neighborhoods.Police officers were also wounded''.

PALESTINIANS ARE BANNED FROM JERUSALEM,FOLLOWING RECENT ATTACKS.

                              Today sunday,it was said by the Israeli policemen that the restrictions will be in place for two days,with only Israelis,tourists,residents of the area,business owners and students allowed.Israel took the step of barring Palestinians from Jerusalem following attacks that killed two Israelis and wounded a child.Worship at the sensitive Al-Aqsa mosque compound will be restricted to Old city residents and Arab Israelis ,and limited to men aged 50 and above.There will be no age restrictions on women.They will be allowed to enter through one specific gate.There was no immediate reaction from Palestinian officials.On saturday night,a Palestinian said an Islamist militant killed two Israeli men and wounded a woman and a toddler in a knife and gun attack in the Old city.Police shot dead the attacker.In a separate incident yesterday saturday,a Palestinian man stabbed a passerby in west Jerusa...

MAIDUGURI WITNESSED MULTIPLE EXPLOSIONS TODAY.#BOKO HARAM.

                       Today sunday according to sources,there were multiple explosions in Maiduguri city in northeast of  Nigeria.Sources said they heard loud noises that sounded like an explosion at Kayamla and Dalori along Bama road since around 7:00 am today.Many of the residents have started vacating their homes,due to the disturbing noise coming from the explosions.One of the eyewitness said ''We are not sure whether the terrorists are planning to invade the town but the sound vibrating is devastating.Many of us have vacated our homes''.The number of casualties is not yet known.There might be an update if the number of casualties are made to us.
