 Taraba: Police Commissioner Calls for Peaceful Coexistence Between Herders and Farmers The Taraba State Commissioner of Police, Ukachi Peter Opara, has urged for greater peace and understanding between herders and farmers in the state. During a meeting with the leadership of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Jalingo on Thursday, Opara highlighted the importance of dialogue and cooperation for long-term development. He emphasized that peaceful coexistence between these groups is crucial for their livelihoods and for fostering economic growth and stability in the state and the nation. About 50 Nigerians, Ghanaian Sex Workers Arrested In Ghana About 50 commercial sex workers have been arrested in Koforidua, Ghana, GhanaWeb reports. The operation was initiated by a Member of Parliament for New Juaben South, Michael Baafi, and the police.  According to a source, some of the suspects arrested in brothels in parts of New Juaben South Municipality who were trafficked were majorly Nigerians.  Baafi confirmed the arrests on Sunday, June 11, 2023, when speaking at Pentecost International Worship Center in Koforidua to climax the National Youth Week celebration by the Church. He said, "I directed the Police to carry out an operation to arrest all those prostitutes who come to our town yesterday and left the central police station around 1:00 am.  Man Celebrates As His Two Wives Give Birth Within 24 Hours A man from Kwara State, Sheshi Daudu Maza, in a viral post on Monday celebrates his two wives who delivered their babies within a few hours interval. The first wife, Hussaina, delivered a baby girl on Thursday, while the second wife, Maryam, gave birth to another baby girl hours later.    Sheshi shared the news of both deliveries on his Facebook page. He wrote, "God’s blessing may come as a surprise, and how much u receive, depends on how much, ur heart can believe. My first wife Hussaina has given birth to a bouncy baby girl both mother and the child are well." Announcing the birth of his second daughter, he wrote, "Fly in the plane of Ambition & Land in the Airport of Success.  IMO APC MEMBERS TRAVELLING TO ABUJA DIE IN AUTO CRASH Tragedy struck on Monday as members of the All Progressives Congress from Imo State who were travelling to Abuja for the inauguration of the 10th National Assembly on Tuesday died in an auto crash. It was gathered that the bus they were travelling in had a head-on collision with another bus at Agbor in Delta State. Several eyewitnesses said that three persons in the bus had been confirmed dead, while others who sustained various degrees of injuries were rushed to hospitals. Two males from the Amaraku community in the Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of the state and a female from the Ogbor community in the same LGA died in the auto crash. A chieftain of the party, who doesn’t want to be mentioned, said that the victims were the coordinators of the senator-elect for Imo North, Patrick Ndubueze, and the House of Representatives member-elect for Okigwe North Federal Constituency, Mirriam Onuoha.

I inherited N11bn unpaid salaries — Plateau gov The Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang, on Monday, said that the immediate past administration led by Simon Lalong left a debt burden to the tune of N11 billion as unpaid salaries of workers. Mutfwang disclosed this on Monday in Jos while addressing the citizens during an event organised by the state-owned media in conjunction with the office of the Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Governor to mark the Democracy Day celebration. He said out of a wage of N2.9bn for the month of February 2023, only N900 million was paid to the workers by the past administration.  Gunmen kill one, abduct three in Bauchi — Police The Police Command in Bauchi State has confirmed that gunmen killed one person and abducted three others, including two community leaders in the Ningi Local Government Area of the state. The spokesman of the command, SP. Ahmed Wakil, confirmed the development on Monday in Bauchi. He said that the gunmen attacked a community known as Balma, killing one person and abducting three others, including two community leaders, late on Saturday. Wakil said the two community leaders were a village head in Balma community and a ward head in the Bakutumbu community. DSS seizes Emefiele’s passport, plans home, office search 12th Jun 2023  The Department of State Services has confiscated the passport of the suspended Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele, it has been learnt. The service, it was also learnt, may search Emefiele’s home and office this week. Following his suspension on Friday as a result of the ongoing investigation of his office and the planned reforms in the financial sector, the service arrested Emefiele in Lagos and flew him to Abuja in a private jet on Saturday. The spokesperson for the service, Peter Afunanya, in a statement said Emefiele had been taken into custody and was under investigation. However, a source in the DSS on Sunday said it was standard procedure for his travel document to be seized pending the conclusion of the ongoing investigation. This comes after a Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci finished a yet-to-be-confirmed 120-hour cook-a-thon which drew global attention. The 33-year-old announced his decision to participate in the pray-a-thon on his Instagram page on Monday. He added that the date and time has been established, but is yet to be revealed.
