 Rwanda in talks to receive migrants deported from US, foreign minister says May 5, 2025 NAIROBI,  Rwanda is in the early stages of talks to receive immigrants deported from the United States, Rwandan Foreign Minister Olivier Nduhungirehe said on television late on Sunday. Rwanda has in recent years positioned itself as a destination country for migrants that Western countries would like to remove, despite concerns by rights groups that Kigali does not respect some of the most fundamental human rights. Kigali signed an agreement with Britain in 2022 to take in thousands of asylum seekers from the UK before the deal was scrapped last year by then newly-elected Prime Minister Keir Starmer. "We are in discussions with the United States," Nduhungirehe said in an interview with the state broadcaster Rwanda TV. KANO STATE,SENDS 52 STREET BEGGARS BACK TO THEIR STATES OF ORIGIN.

                      According to the Public Relations officer of the Kano State Board,Malam Mohammed Yola,disclosed this in an interview in Kano today saturday,that Kano state had facilitated the return of 52 street beggars to their states of origin.He said the affected beggars were brought to Kano state from Lagos state in December,2014.''The street beggars were arrested by the Lagos state Government which banned street begging and sent them back to Kano.The Kano state Government then directed the board to return some of them to their respective states of origin.29 of them were from some local government areas in Kano state while the remaining 52 were from other states in the North.13 from Jigawa,12 from Katsina,3 from Niger,four from Zamfara anf four from Kebbi.
