 Zamfara Governor’s Wife Facilitates Marriage for 100 Orphans, Offers Support to Grooms The wife of the Zamfara State Governor, Huriyya Dauda Lawal, has overseen the marriage of 100 orphaned girls in the state. The brides, who were well cared for prior to the ceremony, received full attention for their beautification. Each bride’s dowry, amounting to 151,000 Naira, was covered by the Governor’s wife. In addition, Huriyya Dauda Lawal provided essential household items, including furniture such as cushions, beds, wardrobes, mattresses, and kitchen utensils. Furthermore, she offered financial assistance of N50,000 to each groom to help them start their businesses and achieve self-sufficiency. Hajiya Lawal encouraged the brides to respect their husbands and practice patience. She also assured them that the Zakkat and Endowment Board would be available to offer support should any marital issues arise.

               A Federal High Court,Maitama today February 20,2017 admitted 26 documents as exhibits in the trial of a former governor of Adamawa State,Murtala Nyako,who along with his son,Senator Abdul-Aziz Nyako,Abubakar Aliyu and Zulkifikk Abba,are standing trial for a N29 billion fraud. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC,is charging them with a 37-count charge bordering on criminal conspiracy,stealing,abuse of office and money laundering.They are alleged to have used five companies-Blue Opal Nigeria limited,Serore Farms& Extension Limited,Pagoda Fortunes Limited,Towers Assets Management Limited and Crust Energy Limited,among other companies to commit the fraud.              The Attention of the Service has been drawn to a fake Facebook account created with the name and photograph of DCG DAN UGO,calling on interested job seekers and potential buyers of auction goods to call a phone number provided by the suspected fraudster.The Service wishes to state that DCG DAN UGO DOES NOT HAVE Facebook account.All social media users should disregard such  information purportedly emanating from the DCG.For the avoidance of doubt,Nigeria Customs Service is not recruiting at the moment.Similarly,all auction activities have been suspected for over a year now.You are therefore advised not to patronize anyone on social media claiming to be a Customs Officer or acting on behalf of the Service.

                Wife of the Governor of Lagos State,Mrs Bolanle Ambode,has renewed her call to parents and well-meaning Lagosians to pay adequate attention to the welfare of school pupils.She was the call at Central Primary School,Oba Akinjobi was Ikeja,one of the venues slated for the distribution of school shoes and socks to all pupils in primary 1.3 in Lagos public schools.The distribution is being done through her pet project,Hope for Women in Nigeria Initiative {HOFOWEM}.                                                                  The operatives of the Rapid Response Squad {RRS} of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a suspected ATM robber,Gbenga Babatunde,35,after a failed attempt to rob a lady who had withdrew an unspecified amount of money at an ATM point in Alaba Rago Market around 5:48am.The suspect,who had a cut-to-size locally made short gun with two life cartridges on him,was chased and arrested by the RRS operatives patrolling the area,after been contacted by the would-be-victim who had escaped from the robbery attempt.In his confessional statement,Babatunde claimed that he and his accomplice-one Samson Baba Ramadan,28,who had escaped after the botched operation-had in the past robbed about 35 ATM users in Alaba Rago Market,Ojo area of Lagos before his arrest.According ...
