PSC PROMOTES OVER 8,000 POLICE OFFICERS. (PHOTO).

 PSC Promotes Over 8,000 Police Officers On Wednesday, the Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of 8,053 senior police officers. Earlier in the week, 11 Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police (CPs). Additionally, 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) were promoted to DCPs, and 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) moved up to Assistant Commissioners (ACPs). According to a statement by the PSC's spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the total number of promotions included 1,348 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to Chief Superintendents, 876 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) promoted to Superintendents, and 5,829 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) promoted to DSPs. Oil Theft: Navy Hands Over Vessels, Crew to EFCC Two vessels, MT Platform and MV Caribbean Crest alongside a crew of 22 suspected oil thieves were on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 handed over to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, for further investigation and possible prosecution by the Nigerian Navy.                             Commanding officer of the Nigerian Navy Forward Operating Base, Bonny, Rivers State, Lieutenant Commander MG Munza disclosed that the vessel, MV Caribbean Crest and her crew members were arrested on the 15th of February, 2022 at the Bonny Fairway Buoy with an unspecified quantity of stolen Petroleum Product suspected to be automotive gas oil (AGO), while  MT Platform was intercepted on the 8th of June, 2022 in the vicinity of the Bonny Anchorage for illegal dealing in petroleum products without license.  According to him, they neither have any authority or certifica...

Chinese National, Deng Jailed 5years for Illegal Mining in Kwara Justice Muhammed Sani of the Federal High Court sitting in Ilorin on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, convicted and sentenced a 29-year-old Chinese National, Gang Deng, to five years imprisonment for offences bordering on illegal mining and possession of minerals without lawful authority. Gang was arrested along Tsaragi Road in Share, Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State on Friday, September 9, 2022 by the Ilorin Zonal Command of the EFCC. He was found to be in possession of 25 tons of minerals suspected to be Lepidolite, a raw material used for the production of batteries for vehicles, cell phones, cameras and other electronic devices. Sharing photos from his visit on his Twitter handle, he captioned the photos, “I called on HE #GovSamuelOrtom to commiserate with him on the ravages of the floods in Benue State resulting in high loss of lives, property and farmlands and massive displacement. “I informed him of my intent to visit some of the affected areas and discussed how we as presidential candidates can assist affected states. A statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Commission, Mrs. Boladele Dapo-Thomas said information concerning recruitment exercise by the Lagos State Government is disseminated to the general public through all verified official online and offline platforms. She informed that the report by TopNigerianjobs.com is false and deceitful, as such the Commission is not liable for the contents nor the misrepresentations of facts by the publication. Arrests Three Suspects   The Operatives of the Enforcement Unit of the Lagos State Central Business Districts (CBD) on Tuesday uncovered a criminal hideout located along Lateef Jakande Road, Agidingbi, Beside Anchor Event Centre, Ikeja, arresting three suspects found at the place. The Special Adviser to the State Governor on Central Business Districts, Mr. Gbenga Oyerinde, who revealed this during his visit to the abandoned property being used as a hideout, warned the general public, especially residents to be cautious in the area, especially at night. Chaos at alaba lnternational market in Lagos as traders clash with area boys this morning. Unconfirmed reports claim the traders are against the unnecessary demand of money by the area boys also known as Agberos in the area.   The spokesperson of the Lagos state police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, says the police are working to restore order in the area.   Some persons injured in the fracas have been taken to the hospital for treatment.  Watch videos and photos below.

The suspect, Haruna Garba 'm' 38 years old was arrested after a victim he had duped in August, 2022, raised alarm after unexpectedly sighting him again dubiously engaging a customer, close to the same place he had been swindled. Preliminary investigation indicates that Haruna Garba, who was found with fake seven hundred Dollars, has been in the fraudulent business of fake currencies for over three years after he was tutored by his late master. Nigerian actor Patrick listed four things to help stampt out corruption at our airports. He wrote: " If the authorities at our airports are serious about stamping out corruption ,they should do the following.  1) Imstall cctv cameras with audio and visual recording capabilities in all duty stalls/ cubicles  2) All on duty officials should be kitted with body cams that must be switched on for the duration of their shift. 3) The travelling public should be made aware of the recording devices at the beginning of every interaction.  4) All cctv footage should be reviewed daily by senior officials.
