PSC PROMOTES OVER 8,000 POLICE OFFICERS. (PHOTO).

 PSC Promotes Over 8,000 Police Officers On Wednesday, the Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of 8,053 senior police officers. Earlier in the week, 11 Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police (CPs). Additionally, 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) were promoted to DCPs, and 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) moved up to Assistant Commissioners (ACPs). According to a statement by the PSC's spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the total number of promotions included 1,348 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to Chief Superintendents, 876 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) promoted to Superintendents, and 5,829 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) promoted to DSPs. MONEY WE'RE SPENDING ON CANCER HOSPITAL IN RIVERS JUSTIFIED -WIKE Governor of Rivers State,  Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has declared that the money his administration is spending on the Dr. Peter Odili Cancer and Cardiovascular Disease Diagnostic and Treatment Centre in the State is not a misplaced priority. The governor made the assertion on Thursday when he visited the project site at Rumuokuta in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area, to inspect the progress of work done already. Governor Wike said that no amount of money spent in putting in place facilities that will secure the health of all residents in the state will be considered a waste. "I'm very happy that the money we have spent here is not a misplaced priority. The healthcare of our people is important to us. "It will save the time people travel overseas for cancer treatment. I think it will be something every Nigerians will be happy with.  Here will be like a tourist centre.  It has helipad, and doctors' quarters....

NDC COURSE 29 PARTICIPANTS PRESENT RESEARCH PAPER TO COAS.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

Nigerian Army Participants of National Defence College Course 29 today, formally presented a Research Paper to the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya in partial fulfillment for the award of the prestigious Fellow Defence College (fdc). The Research Paper titled “Pandemic and National Security in Nigeria: Implications for the Nigerian Army" was presented at the Army Headquarters Conference Room Abuja by Col Olutosin Ogunleye on behalf of the participants. The Commandant of the College, Rear Admiral Oladele Daji, who led the participants to Army Headquarters, said the NDC Course 29 assembled in September 2020 and were subsequently given a topic to research on by the COAS.  Unity Bank Grows 34% Pre-tax Profit, Records N23B Gross Earnings in H1 2021 Nigeria’s retail lender, Unity Bank Plc has declared half-year result posting gross earnings of 23.6 billion Naira, which is a 3% increase compared with the corresponding period of 2020. A review of the unaudited half year result (H1’2021) released to the Nigerian Stock Exchange, the Agric-focused lender showed notable improvement across key financial matrices. 17-Year-Old Student Stabs Teacher To Death In Bukuru, Plateau State   A 17-year old student of Government Technical College Bukuru, Plateau State has murdered his own teacher, Job Dashe.  Dashe, a Physics tutor was stabbed to death during the week, leaving behind a pregnant wife whom he married last year November.  The deceased was a graduate of the University of Jos.

AS 4-MAN SPECIAL INVESTIGATION PANEL BEGINS PROBE The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, psc (+), NPM, fdc has recommended the immediate suspension of DCP Abba Kyari, the Head of the Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT), from the Service of the Nigeria Police Force, pending the outcome of an ongoing internal investigations touching on him. The IGP, in his letter to the Police Service Commission, dated 31st July, 2021, noted that the recommendation for the suspension of the officer, is in line with the internal disciplinary processes of the Force.  The IGP further noted that the suspension is also expected to create an enabling environment for the NPF Special Investigation Panel to carry out its investigations into the weighty allegations against DCP Abba Kyari without interference.   A 10-year-old girl in Baringo, Kenya, who was allegedly raped by her aunt's husband for three years, has died. The standard three pupil succumbed to the injuries at Sunrise Children’s home in Kabarnet in Baringo Central. The suspect, Haron Cherono,60, is on the run. "The child was brought to our institution two months ago but little did we know her health was in critical condition,” the home’s manager, Titus Barmasa, said on Friday, July 30. He said the family didn’t provide them with the girl’s medical report, which would have helped them arrange for specialised treatment. Barmasai said at midnight the girl asked for someone to hold her stomach. She also asked to be given water, mangoes and soda before she collapsed and died on June 24. Until her death, the girl had a swollen head, face and limbs. She had lost her appetite and couldn't walk. She was allegedly defiled numerous times by her aunt's husband at their home in Baringo North subcounty since 2019. "My u...
