                   In continuation of the efforts of getting rid of the menace of cattle rustling,armed banditry and other criminality in the country generally and in the north west geo-political region,under the auspices of Operation SHARAN DAJI,troops of 1 Brigade Nigeria Police in Zamfara State,have carried out a joint clearance operation in Maru today.Although most of the targeted suspected cattle rustlers and armed bandits have escaped,the joint team recovered substantial quantity of arms and ammunitions in the area.It is equally believed some of the criminals escaped with gun shot wounds.The team is still combing the general area for such persons.Consequently,the public in Zamfara,Sokoto,Katsina and Kaduna states in particular,are please requested to report any suspicious persons especially those with gun shot wounds.-Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman,Acting Diector Army Public Relations.More photos below         ...

                           According to Reuters,unknown gunmen killed two Nigerian policemen in the oil producing Niger Delta,a police spokesman said today tuesday,a day after five officers were shot dead in the restive region.Spokesman for police in Rivers state in the Delta said ''The policemen were asleep and killed by some callous assailants''.A villager who gave her name as Sarah Ebikabowei said gunmen had killed three soldiers in Bayelsa state,which is also located in the Delta..One more photo below.                  

                          One of the richest man in Africa,Nigerian business tycoon Aliko Dangote donates 10 million dollars to the persons displaced by the Boko Haram insurgency in Borno state,Nigeria.Mr Dangote made a commitment to end malnutrition,hunger and starvation in the refugee camps and other parts of the country.Dangote said ''This is not the first time i am coming here and it will not be the last.So far,we have expended about N1.2 billion in efforts to alleviate the suffering of IDPs across Borno,Adamawa and Yobe states''.More photos below.                                                                                  

                                                       Yesterday monday,four days after he ran away,and was accused of killing his wife last week thursday at Egbeda,Lekan Shonde turned himself in to the Police.He maintained that his wife was his most priced possession,adding that death was his last intention for her.Sources said that Lekan's 90 year old father and some friends compelled him to show up at the Ikeja office of the Commander,Rapid Response Squad,RRS,Tunji Disu,at about 1 pm.Thereafter,he was taken to the Lagos State Police Command headquarters,Ikeja at about 2.10pm.He said in the RRS Van ''I wish death would take me right now''.Lekan denied having any hand in his late wife's death.Although he admitted that there was a quarrel between them a day before she died over infidelity on the part of his late wife,he maintained that he had nothin...
