PSC PROMOTES OVER 8,000 POLICE OFFICERS. (PHOTO).

 PSC Promotes Over 8,000 Police Officers On Wednesday, the Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of 8,053 senior police officers. Earlier in the week, 11 Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police (CPs). Additionally, 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) were promoted to DCPs, and 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) moved up to Assistant Commissioners (ACPs). According to a statement by the PSC's spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the total number of promotions included 1,348 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to Chief Superintendents, 876 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) promoted to Superintendents, and 5,829 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) promoted to DSPs. Ebonyi State Governor David Umahi has reacted to the judgement of the Federal High Court Abuja which removed him and his Deputy, Kelechi Igwe, from office on Tuesday. Governor Umahi, who described the judgement as embarrassing, alleged that the presiding Judge was influenced to deliver the judgement against. He noted that there is no provision in the Nigeria Constitution whereby a serving Governor or his Deputy could be removed on account of defection to another political party. He explained it is only through death, resignation or Impeachment by the state House of Assembly that a serving Governor and his Deputy could be removed from office.

Unknown Gunmen attacked a priest with the Enugu Catholic Diocese, Rev Fr. Bartholomew Nnanyelugo Chime and shot him in the leg, NaijaCover Reports. According to Sources, the priest, who was ordained last December, was accosted by the hoodlums on Friday, March 4, while on pastoral work. Sources said after that the hoodlums accosted the priest, they asked him to release all the money he had on him. “He told them that he did not have money. They collected his telephone and shot him in the leg, put him in the trunk of his car and drove away. When they got to former tollgate along Enugu-Onitsha Road, they dumped him inside the bush and zoomed off with his car," one of the sources said.

Fake America Real Estate Manager, One Other Jailed for Love Scam in Ilorin Justice Adenike Akinpelu of the Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 convicted and sentenced two persons to six months imprisonment each for offences bordering on internet related fraud. The convicts were prosecuted on one count separate charge by the Ilorin Zonal Command of the EFCC. They are Kamaldeen Yusuf, a self-styled Real Estate Manager based in United States of America and one Sulyman Ridwan Omotosho from Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State The duo of Kamaldeen and Sulyman were among the thirty suspected internet fraudsters arrested in Malete, Moro Local Government Area of Kwara State on September 19, 2021 by the operatives of the EFCC during a sting operation, following intelligence reports received by the Commission. Upon arraignment, the defendants pleaded guilty to their respective charge.

Notorious Ponzi Scheme Operator, Umanah Umanah Jailed 20 Years in Uyo The Uyo Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on March 8, 2022 secured the conviction and sentencing of a notorious Ponzi scheme operator, Umanah Umanah before Justice Agatha Okeke of the Federal High Court sitting in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. Umana’s nightmare started in 2020 when he was arrested by operatives of the EFCC following a petition by one of his victims, who alleged that Umanah swindled him of over N2.9million (Two million, Nine Hundred Thousand Naira) and subsequently issued him a N500, 000. 00 (Five hundred Thousand Naira) cheque, which was dishonored by the bank because the account was not funded. During investigation, the Commission discovered that the defendant lured his victims through bogus promises of return on investment of up to 50% in seven days through his company, No Burn Global Limited, with a network in several states of the federation.
