 IGP DISU PAYS OPERATIONAL VISIT TO  AKWA IBOM, PRESIDES OVER PASSING-OUT CEREMONY OF 1,068 RETRAINED CONSTABLES The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, today, 30th April 2026, undertook an official visit to Akwa Ibom State, where he paid a courtesy call on the Executive Governor, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, ahead of the passing-out ceremony of retrained Police Constables in Uyo.                           Today thursday,two security source said Boko Haram militants attacked a village in Niger's southern border area of Diffa killing 15 people.The guerrillas arrived in the village of Gogne on foot and opened fire indiscriminately on residents,adding that Niger troops had pursued them.A state of emergency has been declared there in a bid to boost security,but the attackers often manage to flee across the River Komadougou,marking the border with Nigeria.

A MOTORCYCLIST KNOCKED DOWN TO DEATH A LASTMA OFFICIAL,RECENTLY ON 3RD MAINLAND BRIDGE.

                                     Today it was reported how a Lagos State Traffic Management Authority {LASTMA} official Prince Sunday Segun Shenuga was knocked down to death on the third mainland bridge while trying to assist a man whose vehicle broke down.The motorcyclist also suffered arm fracture,and he is at Gbagada General Hospital,while Shenuga who rode a LASTMA motorcycle was rshed to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital {LASUTH},Ikeja where he died.LASTMA General Manager {GM},Bashir Briamah described the incident as sad,adding that the late Shenuga's remains had been buried.LASTMA footed the hospital and funeral bills of Shenuga and Bashir Braimah appealed to motorists to see LASTMA officials as fellow human beings.
