PSC PROMOTES OVER 8,000 POLICE OFFICERS. (PHOTO).

 PSC Promotes Over 8,000 Police Officers On Wednesday, the Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of 8,053 senior police officers. Earlier in the week, 11 Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police (CPs). Additionally, 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) were promoted to DCPs, and 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) moved up to Assistant Commissioners (ACPs). According to a statement by the PSC's spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the total number of promotions included 1,348 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to Chief Superintendents, 876 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) promoted to Superintendents, and 5,829 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) promoted to DSPs.              Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court sitting in Maitama, Abuja on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 ordered the arraignment of the three presenters of 'Sunrise Daily', a morning show that airs on Channels Television everyday, over a presumed prejudicial statements in a case before the court. The court also asked the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation to prosecute a lawyer, Ben Chuks Nwosu over the alleged 'prejudicial statements' The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, is prosecuting Olisa Metuh, erstwhile PDP National Publicity Secretary, over N400million which he allegedly collected from former National Security Adviser, Col.       Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mr. Agboola Dabiri on Tuesday disclosed that the Ministry will in the next few days compile some basic sign language pamphlets for use in the police station, hospitals, banks and other major places where services are rendered to the general public. According to him, the idea of the sign language booklet was aimed at addressing the difficulty often faced by persons living with the challenge of speech impairment to communicate their intentions when seeking for services from some government and private institutions. EFCC QUIZZES THREE SUSPECTED OIL THIEVES TODAY IN PORT HARCOURT.{PHOTOS}.

      The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Port Harcourt's office, on Tuesday 3 July, 2018 commenced investigations into the activities of three suspected oil thieves: Abadi Japhet (Captain), Kashim Umaru, Godwin Ilioma and a vessel: MV Orbit II handed over to it by the Nigerian Navy Forward Operating Base, Bonny, Rivers State. Navy Captain S.W. Olorundare, while handing over the suspects to the EFCC, said that the three crew members were arrested on February 5, 2018 at about 0250 hours for dealing in unspecified amount of petroleum products suspected to be illegally refined Automated Gas Oil (AGO) without a proper license.   The EFCC has since stepped up further investigations of the matter. The suspects will soon be charged to court.One more photo below.

LASG PAYS ANOTHER BATCH OF RETIREES N716 MILLION.#PRESS RELEASE.

     The Lagos State Government has again credited the sum of N716, 951million into the Retirement savings accounts of 169 retirees from the Public Service for the month of June, 2018 at Bond Presentation Ceremony which took place recently at Ikeja. Dr. Akintola Benson-Oke, who represented Governor Akinwunmi Ambode at the event, said that more than N38billion had so far been expended on 9,214 retirees since inception of the present administration. He reiterated the commitment of the state government to the well-being of all civil servants, both in active service and retirement, adding that prompt payment of salaries to civil servants and retirees benefits underscore the importance the administration attached to the welfare of its workers.        The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC Gombe office, on July 3, 2018 arraigned the Chairman, Gombe State Board of Internal Revenue, three Principal Officers on a 30 count charge bordering on Forgery, Uttering and Obtaining Money by False Pretence, before Hon. Justice M. G Umar, of Federal High Court 1, Gombe. Those arraigned were: Atiku Mu'azu Bayum, Mohammed Adi, Ibrahi m Abubakar and Abubakar Usman  The defendants in their capacities as Chairman, Chief Store Officer, Chief Accountant and Director of the Gombe State Board of Internal Revenue, conspired and forged documents in order to obtain and did obtained the sum of N25, 060, 000.00, belonging to Gombe State Government.        A notorious armed robber with one hand and his accomplice have been apprehended by residents of Obeledu village in Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State. The suspects accused of terrorizing the community for a while now, were apprehended while attempting to steal a motorcycle from one man at gunpoint.       A Police inspector narrowly escaped being lynched after he shot and killed a woman who went to the station to report that her driver stole and hid her money in Anambra State. The deceased, Mrs. Ebelechukwu Emeka (38), of Igbuala Ifite Dunu in Dunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra State, suspecting that the driver of her lorry was not making complete delivery, reported the matter to the police. The policeman, who went with her to effect arrest of the driver, was said to have been searching the lorry with Ebelechukwu, when his rifle, which was corked, exploded and a bullet hit the complainant. The woman died on the spot. Immediately the policeman realised that he had killed his complainant, he ran into the nearest bush. When youths in the community found him hiding him in the bush, they stripped and almost lynched him.        An Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court, Lagos, yesterday, sentenced a 48-year-old man, Adelaja Olaide, to 60 years imprisonment for defiling a seven-year-old primary two pupil. The convict, Olaide, a driver who resides at 17, Itun Oluwo Street, Ketu, Ejirin, Lagos, was convicted of a charge of defilement, which according to prosecution was committed on June 27, 2015. FOOTBALLERS,COACH RESCUED ALIVE AFTER BEING TRAPPED IN A CAVE FOR 9-DAYS IN THAILAND YESTERDAY.{PHOTOS}.

     Twelve boys and their assistant football team coach have been found alive by rescuers inside a Thai cave complex nine days after they went missing, an official said on Monday. The boys, aged between 11 and 16, went missing with the 25-year-old coach after their practice on June 23. It was after this they set out to explore the Tham Luang cave complex in Chiang Rai. A massive international rescue effort has been underway since, with rescue teams battling through thick mud and high water to try to reach the group. “Thai Navy seals have found all 13 with signs of life,” Chiang Rai province’s Governor Narongsak Osottanakorn told reporters. Rescuers had been working on Monday to clear a constricted passageway for divers deep inside the flooded cave complex in a search operation that has been hampered by heavy rain.
