 Taraba: Police Commissioner Calls for Peaceful Coexistence Between Herders and Farmers The Taraba State Commissioner of Police, Ukachi Peter Opara, has urged for greater peace and understanding between herders and farmers in the state. During a meeting with the leadership of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Jalingo on Thursday, Opara highlighted the importance of dialogue and cooperation for long-term development. He emphasized that peaceful coexistence between these groups is crucial for their livelihoods and for fostering economic growth and stability in the state and the nation. Opara commended MACBAN for its readiness to collaborate with the police in promoting peace and security in Taraba. He reassured that the police would continue to work diligently to protect lives and property and pledged to leave no stone unturned in maintaining peace and stability in the state.   THE DISCOVERED DEAD KIDS IN NSUKKA, ENUGU STATE. INTRODUCTION On Sunday, 22nd November 2020, by 9am, 5 children had set out to fetch water at a compound at Itchi, in Igbo-Eze South LGA, (in Igbo Nsukka) Enugu state. When the they couldn't return, people went to search for them. Their wheelbarrow and containers were seen in the compound where they went to fetch the water. The search for the children lasted throughout the night of that Sunday until 3am on Monday when searchers retired, to start the search in the morning. It was in the morning of the Monday, 23rd that these children (below 11 years) were found in a car packed in the same compound where they had gone to fetch the water. 3 of the 5 children had died, while the remaining 2 were very weak. The police was alerted immediately, who took the dead bodies and the surviving ones.   Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, on Thursday, declared that plans are ongoing to connect fibre optic cables to all public schools, educational institutions, health centres, government and para-public offices by mid-year 2021.   The second prosecution witness, PW2, Abdulrahman Arabo, in the ongoing trial of Paul Usoro, SAN, a former President of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, for alleged N1.4bn fraud, on Wednesday 3, 2020, told Justice Rilwan Aikawa of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos how the defendant received a sum of N1.1bn from the Akwa-Ibom State government. Usoro was first arraigned on December 18, 2018 before Justice Muslim Hassan of the same court. He was later re-arraigned on March 1, 2019 on a 10-count charge bordering on money laundering to the tune of N1.4bn.   The trial of Abdulrasheed Maina, former chairman, Pension Reform Task Team, (PRTT) continued on Thursday, December 3, 2020, with the prosecution witness nine (PW9), Rouqayyah Ibrahim, telling the Federal High Court, Abuja, presided over by Justice Okong Abang how Maina acquired properties in Dubai, United Arab Emirate, United States of America, and a $2million (Two Million USA Dollars), property in Jabi, Abuja. The witness, who is an EFCC detective revealed that a prosecution witness, Adamu Modibbo, who testified to the EFCC regarding the said Jabi, Abuja property, allegedly died of Covid-19 after his statement to the Commission.
