CABLE VANDALISM: SUSPECT CAUGHT IN ABIA COMMUNITY. (PHOTO).

Abia State Community Policing Vigilante has arrested an electric cable thief, simply identified as Samuel, while vandalizing power installations along Isi Court-Ikputu road in Isiala Ngwa area. While two out of the three thieves escaped with their operational tricycle, the leader of the syndicate identified as Samuel, from Ebonyi State was apprehended by the Community Policing Vigilante. The arrest of the suspect was made known by the Commander of Abia State Community Policing Vigilante in the area, K.C. Martins. Martins, who said that efforts have been intensified by his men to arrest the two fleeing members of the criminal gang, commended Governor Alex Otti’s administration’s determination protecting the lives and property of the people in the State. COURT JAILS FIVE INTERNET FRAUDSTERS IN ABEOKUTA.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

  The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibadan Zonal Office, on Thursday, October 8, 2020, secured the conviction of five internet fraudsters in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital. The convicts are, Babalola Kehinde Omogbolohan; Adekoya Abayomi Peter; Stephen Ogbebor Damilare; Opeogun Temitope Felix and Sodiq Sanni (a.k.a Alan Anderson). Having pleaded guilty to amended one-count charge of fraudulent impersonation, Justice Ibrahim Watilat of the Federal High Court, Abeokuta Division convicted and sentenced Omogbolohan, Damilare and Felix to five months in prison each, while Peter bagged four months for the crime. Omogbolohan and Peter were given N100,000 option of fine each, while Felix and Damilare were handed N400,000 and N300,000 option of fine respectively.   The Enugu Zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on Thursday, October 8, 2020 arraigned a former manager of main market branch, Heritage Bank Limited, Fidel Omeje, before Justice D.A Onyefulu of State High Court, Onitsha on one count charge of stealing to the tune of Fifty Thousand United States Dollars ( $50,000) . The offence according to the charge sheet is contrary to Section 342 of the Criminal Code Law Cap 36,Anambra State and punishable under Section 353 (6) and (9) of the same law. It was alleged that Omeje, used her position as a manager of the bank and account officer of the complainant, to withdraw the said sum from the domiciliary account of the complainant on July 20, 2011 without authorization and converted same to personal use.   Brigadier-General Ignatius Enyeribe Nwogu has lost his son, Alexander Nwogu to the cold hands of death in America. Alexander Nwogu, aged 23 was gruesomely shot to death at a Northwest gas station on Monday in Washington, D.C by two mad masked men. According to Washington Police, Alex had just graduated in May with a degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering at Virginia Tech Institute, US. He was about to start a new job he landed at a Northern Virginia Firm as a Tech Consultant before his life was truncated. Reacting to his death, a close friend of Alex identified as Will Ventura said that Alex was a shinning star filled with positivity. We know how painful it is to be victims of police brutality. It is not good. The message of the protests is clear - such acts of brutality must stop. We agree.   •Hamzat Conveys State’s Position On Police Brutality The Government of Lagos State has advised youths protesting alleged brutality by operatives of Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) - an operational outfit in the Police Force - to be civil, as they demonstrated in the State to express their grievances. Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, on Friday, shelved official engagements and obliged the request to address aggrieved #EndSARS protesters who besieged the State House in Alausa. As the Deputy Governor arrived at the scene, some of the demonstrators engaged in intense arguments with the Government House police guards deployed to keep the peace. The operatives did not harass any of them.
