 Zamfara Governor’s Wife Facilitates Marriage for 100 Orphans, Offers Support to Grooms The wife of the Zamfara State Governor, Huriyya Dauda Lawal, has overseen the marriage of 100 orphaned girls in the state. The brides, who were well cared for prior to the ceremony, received full attention for their beautification. Each bride’s dowry, amounting to 151,000 Naira, was covered by the Governor’s wife. In addition, Huriyya Dauda Lawal provided essential household items, including furniture such as cushions, beds, wardrobes, mattresses, and kitchen utensils. Furthermore, she offered financial assistance of N50,000 to each groom to help them start their businesses and achieve self-sufficiency. Hajiya Lawal encouraged the brides to respect their husbands and practice patience. She also assured them that the Zakkat and Endowment Board would be available to offer support should any marital issues arise.

 Georgia teen collapsed while playing volleyball then passed away while waiting for an ambulance that never came. 15-year-old Amanda Sylvester experienced a medical emergency while warming up with the Dream Chasers Volleyball Club at Tracey Wyatt Recreation Complex in College Park, GA.  The disturbing incident took place on Thursday, December 5th. After Amanda suddenly collapsed, the fire department and other EMS services arrived on scene and began treating the teen who was still able to speak at that time.  However Grady EMS "never fully responded" to the multiple requests for an ambulance on scene to transfer the teen that was fighting for her life. However, it was believed by everyone involved that an ambulance was on its way.  Finally fed up with waiting for over an hour, the frantic mother loaded her daughter into her own minivan and drove her to Children's Hospital of Atlanta.  The internet is outraged after a 22-year-old influencer shared a video of her "dancing next to her 85-year-old boyfriend's hospital bed and declaring she's in the will". Bronwin Aurora , a social media influencer from Toronto, is under fire after sharing a now viral video. In the video shared to TikTok, Bronwin shows herself dancing to "Keep up, I'm too fast". The video was captioned, "Guys I  got on the will, should I pull the plug?" This isn't the first controversial post she has shared in regards to her aged boyfriend. In the past she has shared videos of her dancing after her boyfriend spent $20,000 on jewelry for her. She has also made videos saying she is "not intimate with him and would need medical clearance to do so". The incident took place last Friday on a flight from Bangkok and Zurich, an airline spokesperson told Business Insider. The spokesperson said two passengers were in the front galley of the Boeing 777 near the flight deck, where a camera is located that lets pilots carry out checks before opening the cockpit door. On December 7, 2024, the troops launched a well-coordinated clearance operation in the Akahagu and China villages of Ukum Local Government Area in Benue State.  President Generals of Communities, Traditional Rulers, Other  Multi-Sectoral Stakeholders Unite in Anambra to Address Gender-Based Violence By Chidimma Okoye  In commemoration of the 2024 edition of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) held in Awka, the Anambra State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, with support from the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption (RoLAC) Programme and International IDEA, organized a conference in Awka with the  theme,“Towards Beijing +30: UNiTE to End Violence Against Women and Girls".  The event brought together stakeholders from across the state to deliberate on strategies to curb GBV. These notable achievements include the rescue of 20 victims in 2 significant kidnapping attempts in Katsina State.
