PSC PROMOTES OVER 8,000 POLICE OFFICERS. (PHOTO).

 PSC Promotes Over 8,000 Police Officers On Wednesday, the Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of 8,053 senior police officers. Earlier in the week, 11 Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police (CPs). Additionally, 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) were promoted to DCPs, and 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) moved up to Assistant Commissioners (ACPs). According to a statement by the PSC's spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the total number of promotions included 1,348 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to Chief Superintendents, 876 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) promoted to Superintendents, and 5,829 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) promoted to DSPs. CHICKEN SMELL PREVENTS MALARIA.{RESEARCH}.

                        According to CCTV,Ethiopian and Swedish scientists have found out that the smell from a live chicken could help protect against malaria.The researchers discovered that malarial mosquitoes tend to avoid chickens and other live birds.A live chicken suspending in a cage near a volunteer sleeping under a bed net was one of the experiments conducted in western Ethiopia.The scientists,whose research was published in the Malaria Journal,concluded that as mosquitoes use their sense of smell to locate an animal they can bite there must be something in a chicken's odour that puts the insects off.Addis Ababa University's Habte Tekie,who worked on the research,said that the compounds from the smell of the chicken can be extracted and could work as a repellent.Tekje said filed trials for this stage of research are now ''in the pipeline''.One more photo below.                 ...

                                   Today saturday,Kenyan authorities deported Congolese musician Koffi Olomide following his arrest yesterday friday night for allegedly assaulting one of his female dancers in Nairobi.Olomide who has in the past been accused of other assault cases,was filmed on friday attacking one of his female dancers at the airport after arrival in Nairobi,an incident that lead to his arrest after a live interview at one of the local media stations.Koffi Olomide was later arrested outside Royal Media Services offices and taken to police custody where he spent the night in police cells.The 60 year old musician had just been interviewed before police pounced on him and his dancers after a directive from the Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet.He was due to perform in Nairobi today saturday night.But during the interview,Koffi Olomide said he did not assault the dancer identi...

               According to sources,the Tarzanian government has banned imports and sales of sexual lubricants in its latest move targeting the gay community.Health Minister Ummy Mwalimu justified the move on the grounds that the product encourages homosexuality,which is banned in the east African nation.''It is true that the government has banned the importation and use of the jelly to curb the spread of HIV.It is estimated that 23 percent of men who have sex with men in Tanzania are living with HIV/AIDS.Ihave instructed stakeholders working with gay people to remove the products from the market.The ministry has agreed to work with stakeholders to give the ministry the money they were using to buy and import the lubricants so we could use it to buy beds for the maternity wards''.One more photo below.                                           ...

                                The Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development monitoring team has apprehended two women soliciting alms with three babies who are less than a month old in Oyingbo area of the State.The two women apprehended by the team,Hadiza Nosiru and Salamotu Salisu,both from Jigawa State were arrested on tuesday,during routine monitoring operations by a Rescue Team attached to the Ministry and subsequently taken to Rehabilitation and Training Centre at Majidun,Ikorodu for shelter,investigation and possible legal action.According to the Ministry,preliminary investigation conducted revealed that the two women apprehended were not the biological mothers of the babies and that the babies were given out to them by their parents who later got paid for each baby.One of the biological mothers of the infants paraded at Alausa Ikeja on thursday,alongside the three infants,identified ...

A FEDERAL HIGH COURT JUDGE,HAS RETURNED THE CORRUPTION CASE FILE OF A FORMER GOVERNOR OF BENUE STATE.{PHOTOS].

                   The Chief Judge of the Federal High Court,Justice Ibrahim Auta,has returned the corruption case file of a former governor of Benue State,Gabriel Suswam,to Justice A.R. Mohammed and ordered him to continue presiding over the case.Suswam is being prosecuted by the EFCC,along with his Commissioner of Finance,Okolobia Okpanachi,o a nine-count charge bordering on conspiracy,abuse of office and diversion of state funds to the tune of N3.1 billion.It would be recalled that Justice Mohammed had on June 6,2026 handed off the case,and informed the court of his decision to return the case file to the Chief Judge for reassignment.He had cited a May 27,2016 report published on an online news medium SaharaReporters,in which it was alleged that Suswam ''entered into a financial agreement'' with him in order to grant the former Benue State governor ''a soft landing in the case''.One more photo below.          ...
