 STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE (UPDATED) WE ARE TARGETING $5BILLION TRADE VOLUME WITH NIGERIA- PRESIDENT ERDOGAN President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of the Republic of Türkiye, on Tuesday in Ankara, said his country targets a $5 billion trade volume with Nigeria, adding that discussions to actualise this have already commenced.  President Erdogan stated this during a joint press briefing with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the Nigerian President's State Visit. At present, the trade volume between the two nations is about $2 billion. Turkey exports  planes, helicopters, machinery, iron and steel, and chemical products to Nigeria. .Nigeria exports crude oil and agricultural products to Türkiye. President Erdogan said the establishment of the Joint Economy and Trade Committee between the two countries will create opportunities to expand Turkish investments in Nigeria to realise the target.        Justice Mojisola Olatoregun of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 ordered the final forfeiture of two property in Lagos belonging to a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Allison-Madueke, to the Federal Government. The properties are: Pent House 21, Building 5, Block C, 11th floor( Bella Vista Estate) located at Plot 1, Zone N. Federal Government  Layout, Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos. The other is Pent House 22, Block B(Admiralty Estate), located at Gerrald Road, Ikoyi, Lagos. The Economic and Final Crimes Commission, EFCC, had, on February 5, 2018, filed a motion on notice dated February 2, 2018, seeking the final forfeiture of the properties to the Federal Government.        Bollywood actor Sridevi Kapoor was accorded full state honours as she was cremated at Mumbai’s Vile Parle Seva Samaj Crematorium on Wednesday evening with husband Boney Kapoor performing the last rites. Daughter Janhvi and Khushi also accompanied the hearse. The actor was draped in a Tricolour on her last journey ’s and her flower-covered cortege was followed by thousands of mourners who walked all the way from prayer hall in Lokhandwala to the crematorium in Vile Parle, a distance of about 7 km. Her  Bollywood colleagues , including Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Vidya Balan, also reached the cremation ground to pay their last respects. 7:56pm:  Late actor Sridevi’s family has put out a statement.         Purse/small handbag,sometimes plays a major role when you are putting your outfit together.It bothers me how some women walk around with wallet like a man back in those days,thank God for civilization and the use of cell-phones,most women now carry bigger purses when they are casually going out to accommodate their makeup and their phones and rarely will you now see a lady with just one cell-phone .On sunday I decided to wear a black gown,I know everyone will be expecting me to wear a white shoe to match the black and white purse,but instead,I wanted the black and white purse to shine and standout so I decided to wear a black shoe with black stones sewn on it so that it will not look ordinary.I wore white stud necklace set,but the earing is very long because am wearing a short black wig.More photos below.

INTERIOR MINISTER DIRECTS IMMIDIATE RELOCATION OF INSPECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE AND COMMANDANT GENERAL, NIGERIA SECURITY AND CIVIL DEFENCE CORPS TO THE NORTH EAST.

        The Honourable Minister of Interior, Lt General (Rtd) Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau, has directed the Inspector General of Police, IGP Ibrahim Idris and the Commandant General, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC), Abdullahi Mohammad Gana to relocate to the northeast and liaise with the theater commander of operation Lafiya Dole, the Governors of Yobe, Borno and Adamawa states to ensure the deployment of their personnel to all schools in the liberated areas in the three states. This is sequel to the recent visit of the Federal Government delegation led by the Ministers of Interior and Information and Culture to Dapchi in Yobe state, where the Interior Minister, Lt General (Rtd) Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau then directed the Commissioner of Police and the Commandant of the NSCDC in Yobe state to ensure security presence in all schools in the liberated communities.           The Swiss government just issued a warning and a recall of Zomi and Polifuds brand palm oil from  Ghana  due to the presence of Sudan IV (scarlet Red) an artificial dye that is known to cause cancer.          President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the re-appointment of Mr Olusegun Awolowo as Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC). According to a letter signed by Mr Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the appointment lasts for four years. NIGERIAN TROOPS ON EXERCISE AYEM AKPATUMA ARREST HERDSMEN WHILE SETTING ABLAZE GWAMBA VILLAGE.{PHOTOS}.

       Troops of 101 special Forces Battalion on Exercise Ayem Akpatuma (Cat Race) deployed at Numan Local Government Area of Adamawa State swiftly responded to distress call and supported troops at Gwamba village under attack by herdsmen on Tuesday 27 February 2018. Despite swift reaction to rescue the village from destruction, the notorious herdsmen set the village ablaze before troops arriva l. The determine troops trailed the herdsmen and arrested 6 of them at Garigiji village while trying to escape. During the process of the arrest the herdsmen show resistance, which made the alerted troops to engaged them and killed 10 of them. Items recovered from the herdsmen are : one AK 47 rifle, 41 rounds of 7.62mm special, one locally made rifle with 25 cartridges, one cutlass, looted clothes and one motorcycle, Brigadier General Texas Chukwu      Director Army Public Relations One more photo below.

         Members of the Press It is a pleasure to once again inform you on the tremendous success recorded in the anti-smuggling drive of the Command. The Rapid Response Squad of Ogun Area Command based on credible intelligence intercepted four bales of second clothing/shoes suspected to have been use to conceal compressed packs of cannabis sativa (Indian Hemp) at Ihunbo-Okeodon creeks along Idiroko road. Upon thorough examination, forty two (42) compressed book packs and eighty eight (88) coconut packs of Cannabis Sativa (popularly known as Indian hemp) were uncovered. To this end, the Customs Area Controller (Comptroller Sani Madugu) directed the seizing Officer to immediately handover the said items to NDLEA Idiroko Command for investigation, in line with the existing cordial relationship and synergy between sister security agencies working in the border.        Lagos State Government today inducted a set of newly trained 100 firefighters (squad 19) into the State Fire Service Department, with a charge to continue to uphold the motto of the Agency, “Proud Service to Save Humanity” through dedication and commitment.
