 Taraba: Police Commissioner Calls for Peaceful Coexistence Between Herders and Farmers The Taraba State Commissioner of Police, Ukachi Peter Opara, has urged for greater peace and understanding between herders and farmers in the state. During a meeting with the leadership of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Jalingo on Thursday, Opara highlighted the importance of dialogue and cooperation for long-term development. He emphasized that peaceful coexistence between these groups is crucial for their livelihoods and for fostering economic growth and stability in the state and the nation. Opara commended MACBAN for its readiness to collaborate with the police in promoting peace and security in Taraba. He reassured that the police would continue to work diligently to protect lives and property and pledged to leave no stone unturned in maintaining peace and stability in the state.         The attention of the National Officers of the Nigerian Bar Association have been drawn to a video clip which has now gone viral involving a 'lawyer' and some Federal Road Safety Corp officials. The video clip appeared to show the 'lawyer' assaulting a female FRSC official and behaving in a way unexpected of a legal practitioner. While we are still in the process of obtaining the particulars of the 'lawyer' involved and h is branch, we assure members that the NBA would not tolerate a situation where legal practitioners exhibit acts of thuggery and gross indiscipline in the conduct of their affairs, and bring the legal profession into disrepute. ARMY REPELLED TERRORISTS INFILTRATION AT GUDUMBALI,BORNO STATE.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

        Troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE located at Gudumbali in northern Borno State on Friday 15th December 2018 repelled an infiltration by suspected Boko Haram terrorists that came disguised as civilian Internally Displaced Persons and inserted themselves in the community. The terrorists took advantage of the ongoing distribution of relief materials by the Nigerian Army at Gudumbali and opened fire on troops location which was followed by rapid fire from other terrorists in gun trucks along Gudumbali-Kukawa axis. The trucks conveying the relief materials were set ablaze. However, the troops however fought gallantly and outmanoeuvred the attackers and inflicted heavy casualties on them. Unfortunately, a soldier paid the supreme price during the encounter, while another was wounded in action. A Cobra Armoured Personnel Carrier and a truck belonging to the unit were damaged.
