 October 1 protest: Ogun court restricts protesters to MKO Abiola Stadium, three other venues A High Court sitting in Abeokuta, Ogun State, has restricted members of the #FearlessInOctober protest groups in the state to the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta, Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu; Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu Ode, and Ansar-Ud-Deen Comprehensive High School, Ota. The court presided by Tajudeen. A.Okunsokan gave this order following an application brought by the Attorney-General of Ogun State in suit no AB/667/2024, and with Messers Afolabi Adeboye, Ifemosu Michael, Lekan Soneye (for themselves and members of the#FearlessInOctober protests); Bestman Okereafor (on behalf of the Progressive Students Movement), Francis Adeyanju (on behalf of the National Association of Nigerian Students) and Thomas Kehinde (on behalf of the National Association of Ogun Students), as respondents.   The Lagos State Government has announced that all Public and Private Schools in the State should resume for the Third Term of the Y2020/2021 academic session on Tuesday, May 4, 2021. A release issued by the Office of the Director-General, Office of Education Quality Assurance, Mrs. Abiola Seriki-Ayeni, enjoined all school managers to enforce strict compliance with all subsisting protocols to curb the spread of COVID-19, just as they ensure that all students and staff are protected in the State. According to her, OEQA evaluators will be visiting schools across the five divisions to monitor resumption activities and to ensure compliance with the State unified academic calendar date. While informing that Students in boarding schools are enjoined to resume on Monday, May 3, 2021, Seriki-Ayeni advised proprietors and administrators to ensure strict compliance with the Lagos State Government academic calendar/resumption dates.
