APPLE'S STATEMENT ON MINERALS MUST BE 'VERIFIED'-DRC. (PHOTO).

 Apple's statement on minerals must be 'verified': DRC International lawyers for the Democratic Republic of Congo welcomed Apple's decision to stop sourcing minerals from there due to worsening conflict, but said they would press ahead with their cases against the company in Europe. Criminal complaints were filed against Apple subsidiaries in France and Belgium this week on behalf of DR Congo, accusing the tech firm of using conflict minerals in its supply chain, Reuters reported. DR Congo is a major source of tin, tantalum and tungsten, so-called 3T minerals used in computers and mobile phones. But some artisanal mines are run by armed groups involved in massacres, rapes and other crimes, say UN experts and rights groups. 'Satisfaction and caution' Apple said on Tuesday that it strongly disputes the claims and has told suppliers they must not use the minerals in question sourced from DR Congo or Rwanda.                One of my reporter Chinenye Genevieve is reporting today that '' A 43-year old man, Cyril Obinzu has been arrested, charged before a Lagos court and remanded in prison for impregnating a lady and failing to live up to his responsibilities for the baby and the mother. The incident happened at 7 Rasak Avenue in Shasha, Lagos where Obinzu resided, citadel daily correspondent reports that Obinzu impregnated Happiness Umukoro but refused to marry her because he reportedly had another woman he had promised to marry. It was gathered that Obinzu was dating Happiness and the undisclosed lady he wanted to marry.However, Happiness played a fast one on him, he got her pregnant and she informed him about the pregnancy. UNKNOWN GUNMEN ATTACKED EFCC OFFICE IN WUSE ABUJA TODAY.{PHOTOS}.

                  A major security breach was recorded at the headquarters of the EFCC in the early hours of Wednesday, August 16, 2017 as unknown gunmen attacked the office located at Wuse Zone 7, Abuja. The group of heavily armed bandits invaded the office at about 05.00 hours and began shooting into the premises, damaging vehicles parked in the premises in the process. However, the attack was repelled by guards on duty. The hoodlums escaped in a getaway vehicle but  not without leaving a message; a white envelope dropped by the fleeing attackers was found to contain a death threat addressed to Ishaku Sharu, a senior investigator with the Commission. Ishaku who heads the Foreign Exchange Malpractices Fraud Section is in charge of corruption investigation involving several politically exposed persons and retired military brass hats.More photos below.
