 October 1 protest: Ogun court restricts protesters to MKO Abiola Stadium, three other venues A High Court sitting in Abeokuta, Ogun State, has restricted members of the #FearlessInOctober protest groups in the state to the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta, Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu; Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu Ode, and Ansar-Ud-Deen Comprehensive High School, Ota. The court presided by Tajudeen. A.Okunsokan gave this order following an application brought by the Attorney-General of Ogun State in suit no AB/667/2024, and with Messers Afolabi Adeboye, Ifemosu Michael, Lekan Soneye (for themselves and members of the#FearlessInOctober protests); Bestman Okereafor (on behalf of the Progressive Students Movement), Francis Adeyanju (on behalf of the National Association of Nigerian Students) and Thomas Kehinde (on behalf of the National Association of Ogun Students), as respondents. HURRICANE GONZALO,KILLED 3 PEOPLE TODAY IN LONDON.

                 According to the London Ambulance service,one woman died after a tree was uprooted opposite Knightbridge Barracks,Kensigton,during high winds caused by the remnants of Hurricane Gonzalo.Else where a man was crushed to death underneath a van in Canvey,Essex,after a van fell on top of him.The victim,in his thirties,was underneath the van repairing it when a strong gust of wing caused it to fall off a car jack around 10:40am today.Then another man who was said to be around 63 years old was killed after his car hit a bridge near Merseyside,Liverpool,this morning.At the time of the crash the area was experiencing gusts of up to 35mph and heavy rain as the tail end of hurricane Gonzalo blew ashore.Three more people,one of whom was in a wheelchair were injured by a fallen tree at South Wick Recreation Ground in West Sussex just before 10:am.More photos below.                                                                                         

LAGOS STATE GOVT GAVE N50 MILLION TO FIRST CONSULT HOSPITAL.

                    These money given to the first consultant hospital to me they deserved it because if not for that hospital and the late female doctor,Dr Stella Adedavoh,Ebola virus would have spread beyond control in Nigeria.When they admitted Patrick Sawyer {the Liberian that brought Ebola to Nigeria},they quickly reported the matter to the state government which help curtained the spread of Ebola virus in the country.The hospital also lost four of it staff including its most senior consultant,Dr Stella Adedavoh.At a news conference yesterday monday at the Bagauda Kaltho press centre,Alausa,Ikeja,Lagos,Commissioner for health,Dr Jide Idris said ''We are giving N50 million lump sum as business support gesture to first consultant medical centre.This is with a view to getting people and business back on their feet and for business to re-secure patronage of their customers.It  needs clearly be stated that this is not an attempt at compensation but a gesture of goodwill on the

''DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE'',NIGERIAN BREWERIES AND ROAD SAFETY COLLABORATION.

            Federal Road Safety Commission {FRSC} and Nigerian Breweries have signed a Memorandum of Understanding {MOU} on a yearly campaign called ''Don't Drink and Drive''.Mrs Stella Uchegu,the Public Education Officer of the FRSC said in a statement yesterday monday in Abuja that it was one of the ways of creating awareness on the hazards associated with drunk driving by the two establishments.She said the campaign,which had entered it's seventh year,was part of the company's sustainability journey tagged ''Brew a Better World''.The breweries boss said said that the programme would also assist the company to identify ways to contribute positively to the society,to protect water resources,reduce carborn emissions and adjust stainable sources of raw materials.Since the launch of the campaign in 2008,27 rallies had been held at major cities across the country and thanked the FRSC for being part of it.

                  Today tuesday,Oscar Pistorius was escorted out of the Pretoria High Court by the police to a holding cell,after he was sentenced to five year jail term for killing of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.The late Reeva Steenkamp's lawyer Dup De Bruyn,who was hired by her family said ''A five year jail term for Oscar was the right sentence and justice was served''.Though the South African state Prosecuting authority has not yet decided whether to appeal against Oscar Pistorius conviction for culpable homicide.What do you think.One more picture below.
