 Russian forces to stay in Mali to fight terrorism: Kremlin The Kremlin said on Thursday that Russian forces would stay in Mali to help the country's government battle terrorists following an offensive over the weekend by Tuareg-led separatists and terrorists. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the statement after being asked by a reporter how Russia responded to a purported statement from the terrorists saying they wanted Russia to leave Mali. "Russia's presence there is, in fact, due to the need identified by the current government. Russia will continue, including in Mali, to combat extremism, terrorism and other harmful phenomena and will continue to provide assistance to the current government," said Peskov, AFP reported. The Russian Defence Ministry had claimed on Tuesday that units of its African Corps prevented an attempted coup on April 25, 2026 in Mali. 6 BULGARIANS,DETAINED BY THE SUDAN REBELS TODAY.

                               According to a spokeperson Mubarak for the Bulgarian foreign ministry said today wednesday that ''Six Bulgarians working with the UN's World Food Programme {WFP} were detained by Sudanese rebels after their helicopter made an emergency landing in Sudan's war-torn South Kordofan province.The three member crew of the helicopter and three officers of Sofia based Heli Air,the carrier that operated it,were being detained.The flight which was scheduled from South Sudan to Khartoun,flew into an active combat zone in South Kordofan that has been subject to bombings by the government''According to the rebels spokesperson  Mubarak Ardol said ''We just wanted to confirm they were not linked to the Khartoun regime.We are currently in contact with the UN and the WFP to organise their release.Once we confirm that they are fact working with the UN's WFP and not for the benefit of the Sud...
