 Russian forces to stay in Mali to fight terrorism: Kremlin The Kremlin said on Thursday that Russian forces would stay in Mali to help the country's government battle terrorists following an offensive over the weekend by Tuareg-led separatists and terrorists. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the statement after being asked by a reporter how Russia responded to a purported statement from the terrorists saying they wanted Russia to leave Mali. "Russia's presence there is, in fact, due to the need identified by the current government. Russia will continue, including in Mali, to combat extremism, terrorism and other harmful phenomena and will continue to provide assistance to the current government," said Peskov, AFP reported. The Russian Defence Ministry had claimed on Tuesday that units of its African Corps prevented an attempted coup on April 25, 2026 in Mali.                              According to the Oba of the land in Ondo state,High Chief Moses Enimade,the Oyewoga of Odelrele in Ondo state,said some youths entered the shrine in their community and made away with traditional items in a bid to acquire extra ordinary powers and engage in money rituals,since April 15,2015.''They were not qualified to enter the room {shrine}.They had to face death penalty.Even the Kabiesi himself is not permitted to enter the Molokun shrine inner room,except the Chief priest and High Chief Gbogurun.Sacrifice must be performed before they can enter.20 youths have died as a result of their desperate acts.We  have to appease the gods or else many will still die and we have to buy them according to tradition.Their corpses belong to the gods and will be exhumed if buried by their families''.After the robbery,the youths died of severe headache and blindness.One more picture below. ...
