APPLE'S STATEMENT ON MINERALS MUST BE 'VERIFIED'-DRC. (PHOTO).

Image
Apple's statement on minerals must be 'verified': DRC International lawyers for the Democratic Republic of Congo welcomed Apple's decision to stop sourcing minerals from there due to worsening conflict, but said they would press ahead with their cases against the company in Europe. Criminal complaints were filed against Apple subsidiaries in France and Belgium this week on behalf of DR Congo, accusing the tech firm of using conflict minerals in its supply chain, Reuters reported. DR Congo is a major source of tin, tantalum and tungsten, so-called 3T minerals used in computers and mobile phones. But some artisanal mines are run by armed groups involved in massacres, rapes and other crimes, say UN experts and rights groups. 'Satisfaction and caution' Apple said on Tuesday that it strongly disputes the claims and has told suppliers they must not use the minerals in question sourced from DR Congo or Rwanda. The lawyers representing DR Congo said on Wednesday they w...

Diplomats and foreign nationals evacuated from Sudan 23 April 2023 Several countries have evacuated diplomats and citizens from Sudan's capital as fierce fighting continues to rage in Khartoum. The US and UK announced on Sunday they had flown diplomats out of the country. Italy, Belgium, Turkey, Japan and the Netherlands said they were also organising evacuations, starting on Sunday. A French convoy reportedly came under fire while trying to leave the embassy and had to turn back. Sudan's regular army and its opponents - a paramilitary force called the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) - blamed each other for the attack. Speaking to the BBC, French authorities refused to comment on whether an attack had taken place - but they did say that the French military based in Djibouti was involved in the operation and that the aim was to get the evacuees to Djibouti. The French ministry of foreign affairs said it was also evacuating its citizens and nationals of other EU and allied countries. ...

OPERA NEWS,ANCHOR NETWORK ARE EXPERTS IN FAKE NEWS- AZUH ARINZE. (PHOTO).#PRESS RELEASE.

Image
Opera News, Anchor Network Are Experts In Fake News - Azuh Arinze My attention has just been drawn to a silly and unfounded publication by Opera News about His Excellency Mr. Peter Obi, which is attributed to me.  First of all, I want to categorically and emphatically state that I did not grant any such interview or chat to the said media outlet or any other news medium, for that matter. I have absolutely nothing to do with the evil concoction which could have only been fabricated by a malicious and unconscionable individual, masquerading as a journalist and giving a bad name to the noble profession of journalism to which I belong. Otherwise, how could the quack have attributed to me and attached my picture to something as sinister and unimaginable as this odious fabrication emanating from their vile imagination? The publication is slander and libelous. It goes beyond an ordinary electronic news clickbait, for it was intended to malign me and damage my reputation. It is nothing sho...

THIS IS ABOUT THE CHEAPEST OF MY SEVERAL PROPERTIES- KEYAMO.(VIDEO/PHOTOS).

Image
FESTUS KEYAMO, SAN dismantles his traducers: Two days ago, I decided to bait the horde of sore losers at the last elections with a video of my vacation in ONE OF MY PROPERTIES abroad as I did a light workout. Expectedly, they fell so terribly for the bait. Being folks of low moral standards, they seem to view everyone from their own depraved universe. Given same position of public trust and authority, I bet they would easily compromise. So, they assume everyone will wallow in the same moral squalor like them.  For some of us who have built a huge reputation of honour, integrity and accountability and championed the fight against corruption — long before public office- probity and openness remain our guiding principles. By letters dated March 6, 2019 (long before I was appointed a Minister and immediately I was appointed a Board member of the NDIC), and in line with our Constitution, I wrote to the relevant government agencies, informing them of the closure of my foreign account(s) ...

15 YEARS AFTER CONCEPTION: BURUKU BRIDGE PROJECT STILL A MIRAGE.(PHOTO).

Image
15 YEARS AFTER CONCEPTION: BURUKU BRIDGE PROJECT STILL A MIRAGE 23rd April, 2023   When it materialises, a bridge across River Buruku in Benue State will no doubt save lives and open up economic activities on coastal areas and environs. It will link Logo and Buruku local government areas for easy movement. The bridge will also lessen the difficulty motorists experience plying through Benue from the South to Taraba and other North East states of the country. Curiously, since 2008, the idea of constructing the bridge has been on the floor of the National Assembly. It was even captured in the national budget of 2009 and N300million was allocated for designing, while the cost of the bridge was put at N4billion. But since then, neither the design nor contract for the construction of that bridge, expected to be awarded the following year, has seen the light of day. In 2012, while the idea was still in the cooler, the cost of construction had jumped to N12billion when the matter came...
