 October 1 protest: Ogun court restricts protesters to MKO Abiola Stadium, three other venues A High Court sitting in Abeokuta, Ogun State, has restricted members of the #FearlessInOctober protest groups in the state to the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta, Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu; Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu Ode, and Ansar-Ud-Deen Comprehensive High School, Ota. The court presided by Tajudeen. A.Okunsokan gave this order following an application brought by the Attorney-General of Ogun State in suit no AB/667/2024, and with Messers Afolabi Adeboye, Ifemosu Michael, Lekan Soneye (for themselves and members of the#FearlessInOctober protests); Bestman Okereafor (on behalf of the Progressive Students Movement), Francis Adeyanju (on behalf of the National Association of Nigerian Students) and Thomas Kehinde (on behalf of the National Association of Ogun Students), as respondents.            According to BBC,Pierce Brosnan caused a sir in India when he appeared in an ad for Pan Bahar,a product many associate with a highly addictive form of chewing tobacco.He told People magazine he was ''distressed'' by the row.He has asked Ashok & Co,the company that produces Pan Bahar,to remove his image from all their advertising.Many have associated Pan Bahar with pan masala and gutka,a potent mixture of tobacco,crushed betel nut,lime,and clove among other ingredients.It is chewed and then spat out in bright red streams by millions of people,who get addicted to its midly psychotropic effects,Both pan masala and gutka have been linked to cancer,with many Indian states banning their sale and running campaigns to discourage people from buying them.Representatives from Ashok & Co. were not available for comment,and their website displays a sign saying it is ''under maintenance''.However,speaking to the BBC when the advert first appeared,th

SARAKI SEEKS INCENTIVES FOR GIRL CHILD EDUCATION.{READ}.

                       Senate President,Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki,yesterday thursday called on all tiers of government in the country to encourage girl-child education by through the use of special incentives.He also said that government need to lay more emphasis on achieving qualitative education for all Nigerian children rather than concentrating on the quantity of students enrollment alone.Saraki according to a statement by Chief Press Secretary,Sanni Onogu,in Abuja,stated this during an interactive and advocacy meeting with 70 school girls drawn from eight states and the Federal Capital Territory {FCT} who visited him as part of activities to mark this years's International Day of the Girl child.The states are Sokoto,Zamfara,Bauchi,Katsina,Kebbi,Niger,Bayelsa,Ebonyi and the FCT.The students who were led by the Girl's Education Manager of the United Nations Children's Education Fund {UNICEF} in Nigeria,Teija Vallandingham,also posed questions bordering on education,welf
