 October 1 protest: Ogun court restricts protesters to MKO Abiola Stadium, three other venues A High Court sitting in Abeokuta, Ogun State, has restricted members of the #FearlessInOctober protest groups in the state to the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta, Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu; Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu Ode, and Ansar-Ud-Deen Comprehensive High School, Ota. The court presided by Tajudeen. A.Okunsokan gave this order following an application brought by the Attorney-General of Ogun State in suit no AB/667/2024, and with Messers Afolabi Adeboye, Ifemosu Michael, Lekan Soneye (for themselves and members of the#FearlessInOctober protests); Bestman Okereafor (on behalf of the Progressive Students Movement), Francis Adeyanju (on behalf of the National Association of Nigerian Students) and Thomas Kehinde (on behalf of the National Association of Ogun Students), as respondents. THE DEATH TOLL FROM BOKO HARAM ATTACKS IN MAIDUGURI YESTERDAY,IS NOW 37.

                   Boko Haram gunmen killed 37 people in raids on five villages around Maidugury,the capital of Borno state.The Islamist militants,who arrived on motorcycles and in four wheel drive vehicles,fired into houses and shot fleeing locals during wednesday evening and the early hours of yesterday thursday.Malum Idrissa a member of a village defense group known locally as the Civilian Joint Task Force said ''Reports indicated a total of 37 people were killed by the insurgents during separate attacks and the villages attacked were around 90 KM from Maiduguri''.Details of the attack emerged a day after president Muhammadu uhari held a summit with regional counter parts to set up a joint military force to counter Boko Haram.
