 October 1 protest: Ogun court restricts protesters to MKO Abiola Stadium, three other venues A High Court sitting in Abeokuta, Ogun State, has restricted members of the #FearlessInOctober protest groups in the state to the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta, Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu; Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu Ode, and Ansar-Ud-Deen Comprehensive High School, Ota. The court presided by Tajudeen. A.Okunsokan gave this order following an application brought by the Attorney-General of Ogun State in suit no AB/667/2024, and with Messers Afolabi Adeboye, Ifemosu Michael, Lekan Soneye (for themselves and members of the#FearlessInOctober protests); Bestman Okereafor (on behalf of the Progressive Students Movement), Francis Adeyanju (on behalf of the National Association of Nigerian Students) and Thomas Kehinde (on behalf of the National Association of Ogun Students), as respondents. FASHOLA TO SLASH LASU SCHOOL FEES.

                 According to a national newspaper,Governor Babatunde Fashola,of Lagos state says students of the Lagos State university LASU ,were not against the hike in their school fees going by the position paper,presented by the students.He claimed the students were against the parameters used in calculating the fees,ut gave hint that his administration might slash the school fees to make the students happy.''We are not inflexible,we will make adjustment or amendment where there's need for better understanding''.He also said government who decided that the new fee was not going to affect sitting students but only new intakes adding that in consideration of qualified but indigent students,government also increased it's budget for scholarships and bursaries from N700 billion,to about N1.2-1.3 billion in order to ensure that no child was left behind.

              76 year old King Juan Carlos of Spain is to abdicate for political reasons rather than his ailing heath after 39 years on the throne.He made the announcement today mother 2nd of Jun 2014 and he will hand over his crown to his 46 year old son Prince Felipe,and make his wife Queen,Princess Letizia an award winning television journalist with CNN in 2003,but not before a new law is drafted to pave the way for such unprecedented hand over.He is the second European monarch to abdicate in just over a year after Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands gave the throne to her son Prince Willem Alexander after 33 years in April last two years.I belive the Queen of England should hand over to his son Prince Charles while she is still alive.More photos below.
