 Taraba: Police Commissioner Calls for Peaceful Coexistence Between Herders and Farmers The Taraba State Commissioner of Police, Ukachi Peter Opara, has urged for greater peace and understanding between herders and farmers in the state. During a meeting with the leadership of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Jalingo on Thursday, Opara highlighted the importance of dialogue and cooperation for long-term development. He emphasized that peaceful coexistence between these groups is crucial for their livelihoods and for fostering economic growth and stability in the state and the nation. Opara commended MACBAN for its readiness to collaborate with the police in promoting peace and security in Taraba. He reassured that the police would continue to work diligently to protect lives and property and pledged to leave no stone unturned in maintaining peace and stability in the state.                    Facebook Director of Trust and Safety for Africa and Europe,Mr Cristine Perrella,paid a working visit to the EFCC in Lagos and Abuja.This was in appreciation of the active presence of EFCC on FACEBOOK.Cristine's visit was a precursor to the visit of FACEBOOK Chief Executive Officer,CEO,Mark Zuckerberg who is currently in Nigeria.More photos below.

IGP PRESENTED CHEQUES TO THE FAMILIES OF LATE POLICE OFFICERS TODAY IN A CONFERENCE IN ABUJA.{PHOTOS}.

                       The Inspector General of Police,Ag IGP Ibrahim K. Idris,mni,psc held a conference with Officers from the rank of Commissioner's of Police and above today 31st August,2016 during which he presented cheques to the families of  Late Police Officers.Each family received a cheque ranging from  five Hundred Thousandd Naira {N500,000.00} to Three Million Naira {N3,000,000.00}.The total cheques presented were One Hundred and Seventeen {117} amounting to One Hundred and Ninety two Million Naira {N192,000,000.00}.More photos below.

ALL THE BANKS BANNED FROM FOREIGN EXCHANGE YESTERDAY,HAVE BEEN RE-INSTATED TODAY BY CBN.

                                According to one of my Reporters Joan Ugochukwu,she is reporting today that the  Central Bank of Nigeria {CBN} has re-instated all the banks that were banned from the foreign exchange market.The Director,Banking Supervision,Mrs Tokunbo Martins,said today wednesday at a media briefing,stating that the decision was reached after a series of meeyings with the body of bank Chief Executive Officers {CEOs} and the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria {CIBN}.She said ''Well,we have had engagements with the body of CEOs and they have been interacting amongst themselves and I am happy to tell you today that the banks that were hitherto banned have been released from the ban.And the reason is because all of the banks after discussions and engagements under the auspices of the body of CEOs and the CIBN have all submitted credible repayment plans which we the CBN found acce...

                           Senator Adeseye Ogunewe,the Pro Chancellor,Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta,FUNAAB is being quizzed at the Iyaganku office of the EFCC,Ibadan today August 31,2016 in respect of an alleged case of abuse of office and misappropriation of funds reported against the University Pro Chancellor,Vice Chancellor,Professor Olusola Oyewole,management and some members of the Governing Council.According to a petition submitted to the EFCC by the Concerned Stakeholders of the Federal University of Agriculture,it was alleged that the Pro Chancellor and the Vice Chancellor engaged in an ''unbridled corruption and betrayal of public trust''.Ogunewe is still being interrogated by the EFCC operatives of the Commission.

MORE ILLEGAL STRUCTURES ON DRAINAGE CHANNELS TO BE IMMEDIATELY DEMOLISHED-LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT.

                             The Lagos State Government has directed officials of relevant agencies to ensure the immediate demolition of all illegal structures along drainage channels and alignments hampering the free flow of water in the State.The Commissioner for the Environment,Dr. Babatunde Adejare gave the directive during the on-going tour of crucial drainage spots in the State,reported to have contributed to flooding in some parts of the State during the heavy downpour over the weekend.The tou which took the Commissioner and officials of his Ministry and those of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency {LASEMA} to Sogunle-Ikeja,Ajiran in Lekki,Salawe/Taike in Ikosi-Ketu among others,revealed that most of the flooded areas had been blocked by refuse dumps,illegal structures on low lying areas,flood plains and drainage channels.While conveying the sympathy of the State Governor,Mr Akinwunmi Ambode,to th...
