PSC PROMOTES OVER 8,000 POLICE OFFICERS. (PHOTO).

 PSC Promotes Over 8,000 Police Officers On Wednesday, the Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of 8,053 senior police officers. Earlier in the week, 11 Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police (CPs). Additionally, 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) were promoted to DCPs, and 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) moved up to Assistant Commissioners (ACPs). According to a statement by the PSC's spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the total number of promotions included 1,348 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to Chief Superintendents, 876 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) promoted to Superintendents, and 5,829 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) promoted to DSPs.       The President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan on Monday justified the current move by the Senate to amend the law on Production Sharing Contract in the oil industry. Lawan said "it has become absolutely necessary for us to do so as a country so that we can generate more revenues from our endowments." He spoke while declaring open a public hearing on the Deep Offshore and Inland Basin Production Sharing Contrac t 2004(amendment) Bill 2019 which is being sponsored by Senator Albert Bassey Akpan. The public hearing was convened jointly by the Senate committees on Petroleum (upstream), Gas, finance and Judiciary.      The EFCC, Kano Zonal Office today, October 15, 2019, arraigned a business concern, MGB Global Markets LTD and three of the promoters: Muhammadu Garba Bichi, Iliyasu Garba and Umar Iliyasu Garba. They were arraigned before Justice O.A Egwuatu of the Federal High Court 2 Kano State on a six count charge bordering on Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act, 2006. COURT CONVICTS TWO FOR N7 MILLION FRAUD TODAY.{PHOTO}.

      The EFCC, Makurdi Zonal Office on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 secured the conviction of Osikoya Kolawole Gboyega and Adewuyi Ademola Adebayo before Justice Mobolaji Olajuwon at the Federal High Court sitting in Makurdi, Benue State. Their conviction followed a plea bargain agreement with the Commission. They were arraigned on a two-count charge.More photos below.

       Justice Tukur granted bail to Chinyere Aniobi Jessica who is being prosecuted by the EFCC on a two count charge bordering on allegation of Conspiracy and Obtaining Money by False pretence. It would be recalled that the defendant was among the six who were earlier convicted on the same offence but Jessica pleaded not guilty to the charge against her prompting the trial judge to fixed today for hearing of her bail application.

     Better time awaits workers in Lagos State, as Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu discloses, on Tuesday, that the State is ready to pay more than the N30,000 benchmark for the National Minimum Wage. Sanwo-Olu said the implementation of the new minimum wage payment would take off when the Federal Government and labour unions conclude their negotiations. The State, he said, was drawing up its finances and creating additional revenue sources that would enable the Government sustain the new minimum wage payment. The Governor made these disclosures during a meeting with Organised Labour Unions held at the State House in Alausa.
