PSC PROMOTES OVER 8,000 POLICE OFFICERS. (PHOTO).

 PSC Promotes Over 8,000 Police Officers On Wednesday, the Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of 8,053 senior police officers. Earlier in the week, 11 Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police (CPs). Additionally, 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) were promoted to DCPs, and 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) moved up to Assistant Commissioners (ACPs). According to a statement by the PSC's spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the total number of promotions included 1,348 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to Chief Superintendents, 876 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) promoted to Superintendents, and 5,829 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) promoted to DSPs.        The Chairman of Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Agency, LNSA, Mr. Israel Ajao (RTD) has restated the resolve of the Agency to remain committed to its “Clean Up  Lagos” exercise, just as he disclosed that the LNSA apprehended two cult members at Imota area of the State during a recent midnight patrol. The suspects, Adebayo Oluwafemi (18) and Kehinde Olumide (19), were apprehended in the early hours of Friday with two dangerous weapons and a locally made gun in their possession. According to Ajao, the frequent complaints from the residents of Ori-Okuta in Imota area of Ikorodu was not unconnected with the activities of the arrested suspects whom he said confessed to being members of KK-Confraternity and Aiye Secret cult respectively. He decried the influence of the duo and other members of the cult groups on school children within the area, especially the students of Imota Grammar School who engaged in nefarious acts. WOMEN'S DAY: EKITI ADDS 5000 WOMEN TO WELFARE SCHEME YESTERDAY.{PHOTOS}.

           In its usual manner of celebrating women and empowering them, Ekiti State Government has added 5000 beneficiaries to its welfare scheme for women through which each beneficiary is given N20000 monthly to boost their trades. Governor Ayodele Fayose announced this on Thursday in Ado-Ekiti during the celebration of this year's International Women's Day. By this addition, the number of women benefitting from the scheme is now 15000. Last year, Fayose announced that 10000 women would be given N20000 monthly to boost their trades.         The Delta State governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa has called on Nigerians to support the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in the fight against corruption in order to secure the nation's economy. The governor stated this, March 8, 2018 when he received officers of the Benin Zonal office of the Commission who paid him a courtesy visit in his office. Hear him, “partnering with the EFCC and other security agencies will go a lon g way in securing the economy of Nigeria,” he said. The governor, who assured that the state government will work with the EFCC to tackle corruption in the state, lamented that one area where economic crime has assumed a frightening dimension was illegal oil bunkering.       Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle spent the day in Birmingham yesterday. His Royal Highness and Ms. Markle visited Millennium Point to join in on an event to celebrate   # InternationalWomensDay . HRH and Ms. Markle met female students from local secondary schools as they took part in different activities aimed to inspire the next generation of women to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM). Prince Harry and Ms. Markle then visited the Nechells Wellbeing Centre to join Birmingham's Coach Core apprentices in a training masterclass.More photos below.

LAGOS STATE IS READY TO SHUT DOWN ANY SCHOOL INDICTED BY WAEC FOR EXAMINATION MALPRACTICE FOR 3 YEARS.{READ}.

      Lagos State Government and Proprietors of Private Schools in the State have reached an accord to shut down any school indicted by West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) for examination malpractice for three consecutive years. The Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Idiat Oluranti Adebule, who disclosed this at a meeting with Principals and Headteachers of Public Schools, decried the indictment of some schools by WAEC, stressing that some serial offenders had appeared on the list for 3 consecutive years (2015 – 2017). THREE HERDSMEN CONVICTED FOR VIOLATING RANCHING LAW IN BENUE - ORTOM.{PHOTOS}.

        Three herdsmen have been convicted in Benue State for violating the Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Law. Governor Samuel Ortom disclosed this today while addressing party officials and council chairmen during the State Working Committee meeting of the All Progressives Congress, APC. He stated that over hundred had been arrested for contravening the law, stressing that assurances had also been given by security agents to help enforce implementation of the ranching law. The Governor said Fulani herdsmen who were causing insecurity in the country were enemies of the APC and all Nigerians, even as he called for the arrest and prosecution of leaders of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore and other Fulani leaders for their inflammatory statements.
