PSC PROMOTES OVER 8,000 POLICE OFFICERS. (PHOTO).

 PSC Promotes Over 8,000 Police Officers On Wednesday, the Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of 8,053 senior police officers. Earlier in the week, 11 Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police (CPs). Additionally, 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) were promoted to DCPs, and 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) moved up to Assistant Commissioners (ACPs). According to a statement by the PSC's spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the total number of promotions included 1,348 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to Chief Superintendents, 876 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) promoted to Superintendents, and 5,829 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) promoted to DSPs. 100 TOGOLESE DEPORTED BY NIGERIAN AUTHORITIES FROM LAGOS STATE.

              100 Togolese asylum seekers in Nigeria,were on saturday deported back to their country by Nigerian authorities.The group of Togolese came to Nigeria in July after Benin,which had hosted them for nearly a decade,stripped them off refugee status.One of the refugees identified as Sogbo Maonou,who was among those deported,said that Nigerian soldiers in Lagos loaded them onto buses on saturday that drove them to Togo through Benin.Brigitte Eno,deputy representative for the  U.N Refugee agency in Nigeria,said the group should have been counselled before being repatriated.''They were supposed to be informed individually and counselled but immigration did it their own way.We were not even aware of the fact they were being put on buses''.Michael Akindele,general manager of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency said due process was followed,they were all interviewed but their requests for asylum were rejected.Many of the Togolese asylum ...

UPDATE ON THE MEDICAL PLANE THAT VANISHED OFF SENEGAL COAST,ON SATURDAY.

                   Remember yesterday,i reported that a medical plane that was carrying seven people disappeared off Senegal coast.So today,it was reported by the Senegal aviation authority who said that the medical plane appears to have collided with a much larger Boering plane shortly before vanishing from the radar screens.The private Senegal air plane was carrying a French patient as well as a doctor,two nurses and three crew members from Burkina Faso's capital Ouagadougou to Senegal's Dakar on saturday night.But it overshot the coastal capital by more than 100km {60 miles} and then vanished above the Atlantic Ocean.The search rescue efforts continues today monday.

LAGOS STATE MIDWIVES DEMONSTRATED IN FRONT OF THE GOVT HOUSE TODAY,OVER 20 MONTHS SALARY ARREARS.

                  Today monday,some midwives in Lagos state stormed the Lagos state Governor's office and the Lagos State House of Assembly to protest the refusal of the Lagos State Government to pay them their 20 months salary arrears.Armed with placards,the midwives under the aegis of Midwives Services Scheme,MSS,expressed their displeasure over the non payment of their entitlements since January 2013 to date.Some of the placards carried by the women reads ''Reduced Maternal and Child Mortaliry,midwife is the answer,pay us our allowances'',''MSS midwives demanded payment of salaries,Jan-December 2013 and Jan-December 2015'',Governor Ambode,Pay MSS allowances'',''MSS midwives,no pay,no work,Gov.Ambode please pay our salaries''.Mrs Beatrice Iioegbunam,spokesperson for the protesters stated that they were employed by the federal government in 2010 to work under the Millennium Development Goals,MDGs to help to reduce maternal an...

                30 women were today monday in Ikeja Magistrate court sentenced to six weeks imprisonment for prostitution.Those sentenced are Funmi Olayemi,Damilola Ibrahim,Blessing Emmanuel,Grace Nwaokoro,Anu Titus,Princess Osu,Cynthian Ozumba,Chindima Eke,Blessing Winwah,Rebecca James,Gift James,Bukola Taiwo,Patience Amos,Oyinda Adesewa,Funmilayo Ajayi,Modinat Bello,Damilola Abiodun,Saki Godwin.Glory Edet,Blessing Okafor,Tope Obatula,Shade Afolabi,Foluke Kolawole,Tosin Ajayi,Bisi Onanuga,Princess Isaac,Ester Akpan,Cythia Osas,Joy Osas and Patricia whose surname is unknown.The accused were being tried for prostitution and breach of peace.The Magistrate Mrs O. PRESIDENT BUHARI TO VISIT GHANA TODAY.

                                                                    President of Nigeria Muhammad Buhari is expected to travel to Accra,Ghana today monday to discuss regional security with his counterpart,President John Dramani Mahama.The Nigerian president's office has issued a statement confirming this.During the one day official visit,Buhari will also discuss trade relations with Ghana.As part of his efforts to build a concerted regional effort against the Islamist extremists of Boko Haram,Buhari has already visited neighbouring Cameroon,Chad,Niger and Benin.
