APPLE'S STATEMENT ON MINERALS MUST BE 'VERIFIED'-DRC. (PHOTO).

 Apple's statement on minerals must be 'verified': DRC International lawyers for the Democratic Republic of Congo welcomed Apple's decision to stop sourcing minerals from there due to worsening conflict, but said they would press ahead with their cases against the company in Europe. Criminal complaints were filed against Apple subsidiaries in France and Belgium this week on behalf of DR Congo, accusing the tech firm of using conflict minerals in its supply chain, Reuters reported. DR Congo is a major source of tin, tantalum and tungsten, so-called 3T minerals used in computers and mobile phones. But some artisanal mines are run by armed groups involved in massacres, rapes and other crimes, say UN experts and rights groups. 'Satisfaction and caution' Apple said on Tuesday that it strongly disputes the claims and has told suppliers they must not use the minerals in question sourced from DR Congo or Rwanda.      An American chef has taken to social media to express his sadness after discovering the little boy he called son and has been raising alone for 10 months isn't his. According to his posts, the chef who identifies as Chef Dom on IG, stated that the mother of the boy had him and abandoned him few days after she gave birth and he has been taking care of the boy with the help of his family and recently discovered he isn't the biological father and has been mandated by the court to hand the boy over to his biological father.       … As Traffic Radio Begins 2019 “Don’t Drink and Drive” Campaign Lagos State Government has again plea with residents of the State especially road users to exercise patience with the current traffic situations in some areas across the State, saying that the situation is under control and would soon be surmounted. The State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Omotosho made the plea over the weekend while flagging off the 2019 “Don’t Drink and Drive” awareness campaign of the Lagos Traffic Radio in Ikeja, Lagos. He said government was aware of the massive gridlock across the state and that it had partnered with the police to deploy 1,000 policemen to help manage traffic on the road. Omotosho said the problem was more persistent at the Agege Motor Road where construction work was ongoing, saying that government had directed the contractor to put measures in place to alleviate the plight of Lagosians all through the period of the construction. ...

OTA TANKER FIRE CRASH - FRSC DENIES CAUSING THE CRASH AND RELEASES REPORT OF INVESTIGATION OF THE CRASH.#PRESS RELEASE.

      Admist the controversy  that the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) was responsible for the tanker that crashed on Thursday 14 November 2019 at Ota along the Lagos - Abeokuta Expressway, which led to a fire outbreak that led to the   deaths of two persons and destruction of seventeen vehicles with the story  reported in some sections of the media that the FRSC caused the crash based on a press release signed on behalf of Prince Dr Dapo Abiodun MFR, the Governor of Ogun State, by  Mr Kunle Somorin the Governor's Chief Press Secretary. 2.  The FRSC has denied no such thing happened .        The Executive Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Muhammad Matawalle has Stated that he would arrest former Governor Abdulazeez Yari if he makes the State ungovernable for him. In the statement made available to the media Governor Matawalle refers to former Governor Yari as his former Driver. It would be recalled that It is more of a power tussle as former Governor Abdulazeez Yari is trying to make the state ungovernable for  Governor Bello Muhammad (Matawallen Maradun) of Zamfara State. In this trend, Governor Bello Muhammad has vowed to arrest and appropriately deal with his predecessor, Abdulazedz Yari should there be any future breach of the peace in the state while he is around. "I swear, the next time Abdulazeez Yari comes to town and there is breach of the peace, I will order for his immediate arrest in the state.
