PSC PROMOTES OVER 8,000 POLICE OFFICERS. (PHOTO).

 PSC Promotes Over 8,000 Police Officers On Wednesday, the Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of 8,053 senior police officers. Earlier in the week, 11 Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police (CPs). Additionally, 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) were promoted to DCPs, and 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) moved up to Assistant Commissioners (ACPs). According to a statement by the PSC's spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the total number of promotions included 1,348 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to Chief Superintendents, 876 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) promoted to Superintendents, and 5,829 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) promoted to DSPs.  Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi withdrew from a long-planned interview with CNN’s chief international anchor Christiane Amanpour at the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Wednesday, after she declined a last-minute demand to wear a head scarf, the focus of major protests in the cleric-run state . A non-governmental group said that at least 31 Iranian civilians have been killed in the crackdown on the protests, in which women have been seen burning headscarves. In posts shared on her social media handles on Thursday, Amanpour said she was ready for the interview on Wednesday on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly when Raisi's aide insisted she cover her hair. Kenyan woman arrested for drunk driving detained after falling asleep and snoring loudly during court session A Nairobi Traffic Court has detained a drunk woman for falling asleep during court proceedings.    Sharon Oparanya had been arraigned before Magistrate Martha Nanzushi on Thursday morning, September 22, to answer to charge of driving under the influence.    However, she slept off on the bench and started snoring loudly which made the Magistrate to inquire from the orderlies the person who was snoring in court.  "Wait wait! Why is she snoring in court, is that someone sleeping in my court? "the magistrate posed. In reply, a court orderly said that Oparanya was drunk and that's why she was sleeping in court. "Your honour, she is drunk and that's why she is sleeping in court," the officer said. EFCC Arrests Two Suspected Internet Fraudsters In Lagos Operatives of the Lagos Zonal Command of the EFCC on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, arrested two suspected internet fraudsters, Agbebaku Newton and Enofe Destiny, on Waterside Road, Eti-Osa, Lekki, Lagos State. The suspects were arrested, following credible intelligence available to the Commission on their alleged involvement in computer-related fraud.   At the point of arrest, several models of vehicles, phones, laptops and a gold necklace were recovered from them.

Yobe LGA Auditor General Forfeits Properties to Government Justice Fadima Murtala Aminu of the Federal High Court sitting in Damaturu, Yobe State has ordered the interim forfeiture of eleven  landed properties,  in Damaturu metropolis,  belonging to  Alhaji Idris Yahaya,  the Auditor General of all the  Local Government Areas, LGAs,  of Yobe State. She gave the order  on Wednesday, September 21, 2022,  following an ex parte application filed by the Maiduguri Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, seeking an interim forfeiture of the properties. EFCC counsel, Mukhtar Ali Ahmed,  told the court that Yahaya  had some landed properties suspected to be proceeds of crime, owing to  an alleged criminal diversion of public funds, abuse of office and money laundering reported to the Commission. Reports emanating from the bi-weekly briefing on troops activities and operational successes recorded in the various operational theaters of the six geo-political zones of the country between the period 8 - 22 September 2022 shows there are increasing use of military camouflage for criminal activities. Keke operators protest enforcement of monthly payment of N15,000 tax by Anambra govt Operators of commercial tricycles (Keke) in Awka the Anambra State capital have protested the enforcement of a monthly N15,000 tax by the State Government. The Paradise News gathered that the operators complained over the constant hounding of their members by Policemen, personnels of OCHA Brigade, a civil security outfit in the state, and operatives of Anambra Vigilante security services, which were used to enforce the payment. During the protest, the operators including operators of shuttle buses refused to ferry passengers, leaving many stranded on the streets.
