 Taraba: Police Commissioner Calls for Peaceful Coexistence Between Herders and Farmers The Taraba State Commissioner of Police, Ukachi Peter Opara, has urged for greater peace and understanding between herders and farmers in the state. During a meeting with the leadership of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Jalingo on Thursday, Opara highlighted the importance of dialogue and cooperation for long-term development. He emphasized that peaceful coexistence between these groups is crucial for their livelihoods and for fostering economic growth and stability in the state and the nation. Opara commended MACBAN for its readiness to collaborate with the police in promoting peace and security in Taraba.      REPORT OF A CRASH ON THE SAGAMU - IJEBU-ODE - BENIN EXPRESSWAY INVOLVING A COMMUTTER  BUS THAT CRASHED  INTO RIVER OSOSA IN IJEBU ODE OGUN STATE ON WEDNESDAY 02 OCTOBER  2019 The Federal Road Safety Corps Ogun State Command has announced with sadness  that a commuter bus  plunged into River Ososa in Ijebu Ode in Ogun State while traveling on the Sagamu - Ijebu Ode- Benin Expressway on Wednesday 02  October 2019 at about 1630hrs The crash occured when the driver of the bus attempted  to overtake another vehicle  on the bridge   and unfortunately  lost control suspected to have been caused by tyre burst  and the bus thereafter  flipped into River Ososa. .       The Department of State Services (DSS) has announced the arrest of Abdulrasheed Maina, former chairman of the Pension Reform Task Team (PRTT). A statement on Wednesday by Public Relations Officer (PRO), Peter Afunaya, said DSS police in a combined operation with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, arrested Maina and his 20 year-old-son, Faisal. The statement reads: “The arrest which was effected at the Pennsylvania Avenue Hotel, Utako, Abuja followed a request by the EFCC to the Service to assist in the apprehension of the suspect. “Maina was arrested in company of his 20-year-old son, Faisal Abdulrasheed Maina, who unsuccessfully tried to resist the arrest. “The lad even pulled a pistol against the security agents involved in the operation. At the Youth Employment Service Their Royal Highnesses learnt about the programme which aims to tackle the issue of youth unemployment by creating one million work opportunities over the next three years. They also attended a Creative Industries and Business Reception meeting entrepreneurs and finding out more about the UK/South Africa relationship. EFCC RE-ARRAIGNS FUGITIVE INTERNET FRAUDSTER TODAY.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

        The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Ilorin Zonal office on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 re-arraigned a 32 year-old man, Abolarin Kayode before Justice Sikiru Oyinloye of Kwara State High Court, sitting in Ilorin. Kayode was arraigned on seven-count charges, bordering on internet fraud and other fraud-related offences. It could be recalled that the defendant was initially arraigned sometime in February 2019 before Justice Babagana Ashigar of Federal High Court, Ilorin but absconded after he was granted bail. However, his luck ran out sometime in August as EFCC operatives traced him to Government Reserved Area (G.R.A.) Ilorin where he was rearrested.      A Pastor identified as Chukwuemeka Ezeh has been arrested by the Enugu State Police command for killing his girlfriend, Miss Ogechukwu Ogbodo at her apartment located at Railway axis of Enugu metropolis. The General Overseer of Royal Prince Prophetic Ministry whose girlfriend is a recharge card sales agent until her death, began fighting with her after she refused to buy him a tricycle. He was reportedly on a visit on July 15, 2019, when he discovered that his girlfriend of five years came home with N2m which she intended to deposit in the bank the next day. Upon making the discovery, Pastor Ezeh killed his girlfriend, ransacked her house and took the money and title documents to her landed property. The New Generation Church Pastor subsequently used the money to procure musical instruments and carried out a total renovation of his church.       The Lagos State Government has commenced an investigation into the purported outbreak of airborne, flu-like illness among students of Queens College and other schools in the State. Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, who disclosed this today, said an investigative team comprising officials of the State Epidemiology Team, Primary Health Care Services and Environmental Health Department of Lagos Mainland Local Government was set up by the Ministry and dispatched to unravel the cause of the illnesses.
