 October 1 protest: Ogun court restricts protesters to MKO Abiola Stadium, three other venues A High Court sitting in Abeokuta, Ogun State, has restricted members of the #FearlessInOctober protest groups in the state to the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta, Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu; Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu Ode, and Ansar-Ud-Deen Comprehensive High School, Ota. The court presided by Tajudeen. A.Okunsokan gave this order following an application brought by the Attorney-General of Ogun State in suit no AB/667/2024, and with Messers Afolabi Adeboye, Ifemosu Michael, Lekan Soneye (for themselves and members of the#FearlessInOctober protests); Bestman Okereafor (on behalf of the Progressive Students Movement), Francis Adeyanju (on behalf of the National Association of Nigerian Students) and Thomas Kehinde (on behalf of the National Association of Ogun Students), as respondents. A MAN ''CHINEDU NWOJA'',WAS ARRESTED FOR DEFILING 7 CHILDREN IN EBOYIN STATE.

                       Today thursday Ebonyi state police spokesman,Mr.George Okafor,stated this in Abakaliki that police arrested a middle aged man,Chinedu Nwoja,for allegedly defiling seven female children at Onueke in Ezza south local government area of the state.The command took up the matter following a petition by the Family Law Centre,Abakaliki.Some of the victims aged between six and 10 alleged that the man who was a father of three had no several occasions lured them to his vehicle and other isolated places where he repeatedly carried out the act.Some of the parents of the children Mrs Elizabeth Nweke and Mr.Monday Obaji said they became aware of the development when their children started complaining of pains in their private parts,pointing out that the accused admitted to the offence when confronted by the community members.The Chairman of Family Law Centre,Mrs Elizabeth Nwali,explained that the Centre petitioned the State Criminal Investigation Department following complain

18 MIGRANTS HEADING TO GREECE,DROWNED OFF TURKEY COAST.

                 Today thursday at least 18 migrants drowned when their overcrowded boat sank in the Aegean sea on their way to the Greek island of Lesbos in the latest tragedy involving refugees seeking to enter Europe.The wooden boat capsized in high waves two miles off the Bademli coast in the Aegean.The Turkish coastguard recovered the bodies including several children from the sea,and were hunting for another two who were missing.A one year old baby was among those rescued.Divers from the nearby Turkish coastal city of Izmir were rushed to the scene after a tip-off that more refugees could be stuck in the hold.One more photo below.                                                                 

5 PEOPLE DIED TODAY,AFTER A COMMERCIAL BUS FELL INTO OJI RIVER ENUGU STATE.

                  To thursday morning on the Onitsha Enugu express way,five people were confirmed dead after a commuter bus head towards Enugu plunged into Oji River near Anambra.Mr Sunday Ajayi,Sector Commander,Federal Road Safety Commission {FRSC},Anambra Command,who confirmed the accident told the incident occurred about 1:25 am today thursday.Ajayi said there were 15 passengers in the vehicle,out of which 10 were rescued and taken to hospital,while five were killed in the incident.He said the timely rescue operations led by the personnel of the FRSC minimised the number of casualties.''The rescue at Oji River is still going on,we have been able to rescue 10 people alive and taken them to hospital,five were confirmed dead and the bus has been recovered''.The commander said it was a lone accident and blamed it on drowsiness of the driver,poor visibility and other dangers associated with night driving.He urged people who wish to travel to do so during the day time,and
