CABLE VANDALISM: SUSPECT CAUGHT IN ABIA COMMUNITY. (PHOTO).

Abia State Community Policing Vigilante has arrested an electric cable thief, simply identified as Samuel, while vandalizing power installations along Isi Court-Ikputu road in Isiala Ngwa area. While two out of the three thieves escaped with their operational tricycle, the leader of the syndicate identified as Samuel, from Ebonyi State was apprehended by the Community Policing Vigilante. The arrest of the suspect was made known by the Commander of Abia State Community Policing Vigilante in the area, K.C. Martins. Martins, who said that efforts have been intensified by his men to arrest the two fleeing members of the criminal gang, commended Governor Alex Otti’s administration’s determination protecting the lives and property of the people in the State.                             The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC,yesterday wednesday 1,February 2016 arraigned one Prince Spencer Adikibi,before Justice U.N Agomoh of the Federal High Court,sitting in Port Harcourt on a 2 count charge bordering on forgery.The complainant,MTN Nigeria Communications Limited alleged that sometimes in 2008 the defendant,a former staff of MTN,a Based Transceiver Station {BTS} land acquisition officer in Port Harcourt allegedly forged and signed a renewal of Tenancy Mast Space Document to one Allwell Onyeotito,the landlord of the said property where MTN Mast was erected. According to investigation,the lease was meant for 10 years which was paid for by MTN but the defendant in a bid to defraud the complainant,forged and utter the company's documents,thereby shortening the period of the contract to Five Years and diverted the balance of the funds for his personal use.                Lagos State Governor Mr Akinwunmi Ambode today thursday said his administration has awarded contract for the construction of eith new blocks of classrooms as well as the renovation of 174 existing blocks of classrooms and the construction of perimeter fence in various schools to enhance security. The Governor,who spoke at the Foundation Laying ceremony of the New Model School in Awori College,Ojo,said the government has also commenced the supply of over 40,000 students' furnitures on a quarterly basis to clear the identified shortfall of 160,000.                      Troops of 25 Task Force Brigade,7 Division Nigeria Army on Operation LAFIYA DOLE during clearance operation at Dulsa and Buk,Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State,today had an encounter with fleeing Boko Haram terrorists in which they recovered Armoured Fighting vehicle,trucks,arms and ammunition.                   The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC,yesterday wednesday,February 1,2017 arraigned Shamsudeen Bala,son of a former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory,Senator Bala Mohammed before Justice Nnamdi Dimgba of the Federal High Court,Abuja,on a 15-count charge of money laundering to the tunne of N1.2 billion.Bala is being charged along with four companies-Bird Trust Agro Allied Limited,Intertrans Global Logistic Ltd,Diakin Telecommunications Ltd and Bal-Vac Mining Nigeria Limited. Bala and Diakin Telecommunications Ltd are also accused of making cash payment of the sum of N74,244,005 {seventy-four million,two hundred and forty-four thousand,five naira} to Abuja Investment Company Ltd without going through a Financial Institution.The offence is in breach of Section 1 of the Money Laundering {Prohibition} Act,2011 {as amended in 2012}.The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges when they were read to him.Upon h...

              Yesterday wednesday,during a visit to Battersea Old Windsor,it was announced that Her Royal Highness {Camilla} will take over the Patronage from her Majesty the Queen.The Duchess has visited Battersea's London centre before,but it was Her Royal Higness's first visit to their Old Windsor centre.During the visit,Her Royal Highness was joined by her two Jack Russel Terriers,Beth and Bluebell!.Beth and Bluebell are both rescue dogs from Battersea's London centre,with Beth being adopted in 2011 and Bluebell a year later.More photos below.
