CABLE VANDALISM: SUSPECT CAUGHT IN ABIA COMMUNITY. (PHOTO).

Abia State Community Policing Vigilante has arrested an electric cable thief, simply identified as Samuel, while vandalizing power installations along Isi Court-Ikputu road in Isiala Ngwa area. While two out of the three thieves escaped with their operational tricycle, the leader of the syndicate identified as Samuel, from Ebonyi State was apprehended by the Community Policing Vigilante. The arrest of the suspect was made known by the Commander of Abia State Community Policing Vigilante in the area, K.C. Martins. Martins, who said that efforts have been intensified by his men to arrest the two fleeing members of the criminal gang, commended Governor Alex Otti’s administration’s determination protecting the lives and property of the people in the State.   PRESS RELEASE Breach Profile of Broadcasting Stations For 2nd Quarter, 2020. “The report shows that a total of 716 infractions of the NBC Code were sanctioned by the Commission between April and June 2020” 25th. November,2020. The National Broadcasting Commission has released the breach profile of broadcast stations in Nigeria for the second quarter of 2020.The report shows that a total of seven hundred and sixteen {716} infractions of the Nigeria Broadcasting code were sanctioned by the commission between April and June 2020. Out of the 716 infractions sanctioned, only 22 (3%) were financial penalty. The remaining 694 (97%) were either cautions or warnings for obscenity, political, hate speech, unverifiable claims, unprofessionalism, advertisements and technical breaches (See Breakdown attached) Advertisement breaches were the dominant infractions for the quarter accounting for 51% of all sanctions, followed by unverifiable claims to cure by tradomedics and preachers with 17%. ...

  The Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON) has commended the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) for its efforts at encouraging and sustaining global best safety practices in the conduct of its operations, while seeking a deeper partnership to promote an enduring safety culture in the Country. The President ISPON, Dr Yusuf Haruna Malgwi, made this known today, 25 November 2020, when he led some executive members of the Institute on a courtesy visit to the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, at Headquarters NAF, Abuja.   The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has sought the assistance of the International Police Organisation (Interpol), on the extradition of Nigerian treasury looters and cybercrime suspects, hibernating abroad as well as the fleeing officials of Process and Industrial Developments Nigeria Limited (P&ID). The Acting Chairman of the EFCC Mohammad Umar Abba, made the appeal on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 when a delegation of the National Central Bureau of Interpol Nigeria, led by Garba Baba Umar, a commissioner of police, came on a courtesy visit to EFCC headquarters, Abuja.   The Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has given a marching order to the General Manager of the state water corporation, Engineer Oluseye Maku, and his team, to be up and doing or face dire consequences. The governor who expressed anger at the state of public water supply by the corporation gave the warning at the two-day Treasury Board meeting on 2021 Budget held at the Obas Complex, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta. The Governor’s warning came when Maku appeared the Board to defend the Corporation’s Budget proposals for 2021. Abiodun advised the leadership of the water corporation to ensure the immediately supply of pipe borne water to all the nook and cranny of the state. A visibly angry Dapo Abiodun had interjected the GM who requested for additional four weeks to put measures in place for a good pipeline construction, saying he hoped that Maku would be the person to execute the water project and not someone else.
