PSC PROMOTES OVER 8,000 POLICE OFFICERS. (PHOTO).

 PSC Promotes Over 8,000 Police Officers On Wednesday, the Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of 8,053 senior police officers. Earlier in the week, 11 Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police (CPs). Additionally, 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) were promoted to DCPs, and 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) moved up to Assistant Commissioners (ACPs). According to a statement by the PSC's spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the total number of promotions included 1,348 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to Chief Superintendents, 876 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) promoted to Superintendents, and 5,829 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) promoted to DSPs. ROCHAS OKOROCHA UNVEILED A GIANT STATUE OF JACOB ZUMA YESTERDAY IN OWERRI+CHIEFTAINCY TITLE.{PHOTOS}.

       Imo state governor Rochas Okorocha yesterday unveiled a giant statue of South Africa president Jacob Zuma in Owerri Imo state. Zuma is on a two day visit to Owerri, Imo State, South East Nigeria. He was confered a traditional chieftaincy title by the state governor, a road was named after him and then, a statue of him unveiled in Owerri city. Governor Okorocha also conferred on President Zuma, the Imo Merit Award, the highest award in the State conferred on distinguished personalities who have made a difference in the development of their communities and to humanity. This has triggered fierce reactions from Imo state indigenes, Nigerians who took to social media to vent their disappointment and anger. The visit of President Zuma, according to Imo State government, is for the signing of an MoU between Rochas Foundation with the Zuma Foundation.More photos below.

Claims on social and traditional media that $25BN worth of oil contracts were awarded by the NNPC or that $25BN in NNPC funds is missing are both false. According to Mr. Laolu Akande, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Office of the Vice President, no contracts were procured by the NNPC based on the leaked memo of the Petroleum Resources Minister of State, even though such impressions have been maliciously created in the past few weeks. While responding to media inquiries Sunday on the matter, Akande disclosed that a closer look at each of the said projects indicate clearly that "these are not procurement contracts.” According to him, "when I tweeted on Thursday morning last week, I had indicated that the Vice President, while acting as President approved Joint Venture Financing arrangements. The Police Command has successfully clamped down on criminals hide out.  ARREST OF SUSPECTED KIDNAPPERS AND RESCUE OF VICTIM: On 11th October, 2017 at about 2000hrs one Nnamdi Ibru 'm' aged, 32yrs was kidnapped in a filling station at Obosi by four armed hoodlums. Twenty Mil lion Naira was demanded as ransom, effective intelligence gathering and cooperation from members of the public. Police detectives attached to Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Command (SARS) trailed them as they were coming to collect the ransom today 13/10/2017. As the hoodlums got wind that the Police was trailing them they attacked police. The Police shot two of kidnappers died while other members of the gang escaped with bullet wounds. It is usually a week long event that see people coming at their day of choice within the period.
