 Apple's statement on minerals must be 'verified': DRC International lawyers for the Democratic Republic of Congo welcomed Apple's decision to stop sourcing minerals from there due to worsening conflict, but said they would press ahead with their cases against the company in Europe. Criminal complaints were filed against Apple subsidiaries in France and Belgium this week on behalf of DR Congo, accusing the tech firm of using conflict minerals in its supply chain, Reuters reported. DR Congo is a major source of tin, tantalum and tungsten, so-called 3T minerals used in computers and mobile phones. But some artisanal mines are run by armed groups involved in massacres, rapes and other crimes, say UN experts and rights groups. 'Satisfaction and caution' Apple said on Tuesday that it strongly disputes the claims and has told suppliers they must not use the minerals in question sourced from DR Congo or Rwanda. The man is now reportedly set to divorce his wife. Oluwo Jogbodo Orunmila, an Ifa priest says the myth of money ritual – an occultic activity that sometimes involve the killing and mutilations of humans – is fictitious and impossible. In what appears to be a growing campaign against ritual killings disguised as money rituals, the herbalist has condemned the crime on Twitter, describing it as something that only happens in Nollywood. “For the 100000000times, there is nothing like money rituals. We live in real world not nollywood movies,” Mr Jogbodo tweeted. In another tweet also on Thursday, he said that the spirit world doesn’t have banks that would have printed paper notes, futher urging people to stop ritual killings. “The spirit worlds doesn’t have banks that print money and banks here didn’t complain of spirit stealing their money. Stop killing people,” Mr Jogbodo tweeted.

Police nab Kaduna women ferrying girls to bandits for sex The Intelligence Response Team (IRT), a special police unit fighting kidnapping, has arrested several women in Kaduna state for arranging sexual liaisons with bandits in the forest. One of the women arrested, a housewife supplied ladies, including her daughters to bandits at Galadimawa forest in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The housewife was identified as Maryam Abubakar. She was said to be a girlfriend of a notorious kidnapper, Isa Ibrahim. The 39 year-old woman who resides at Rugar Hanwa in Sabon Gari Local Government, was arrested on December 21. She confessed that she had been luring women, including her own daughters and nieces, to the bandits for sexual pleasure. Maryam said her clients were paying her N20,000 and that the women were being ferried to the forest on motorbikes.  Criticizing Men Of God Can Cause Leprosy - Oyedepo Bishop David Oyedepo of Living Faith Church has warned Christians to deviate from criticizing their prophets, saying such attitude attracts dangerous punishment from God, Native Reporters can report. The renowned clergy who gave the warning during the Leadership Empowerment Summit at the church’s headquarters, Faith Tabernacle, Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State, said speaking against men of God can attract leprosy. Oyedepo said many critics of his ministry must have been victims of the warning, stressing that the warnings are based on spiritual insights. A Katsina farmer, Saidu Faskari, has removed his house’s roofing sheet to sell as he gathers ransom money for the release of his eldest son. Faskari local government is one of the frontline areas in the state for bandits’ attacks. The area was among the 13 where Governor Aminu Masari shut down mobile telecommunications network as part of efforts to curtail insecurity. They are now demanding a N100,000 ransom from the old man. In the video clip, Mr Faskari was heard saying he was doing it for his son. “They (bandits) kidnapped my son day before yesterday (Thursday). He had gone to pay the ransom money for my release. I spent 13 days in their den. When my children gathered the N50,000 one of my sons was asked to take the ransom but the bandits released me and apprehended him. I don’t even have what to eat not to talk of the money to go and pay ransom. More photos below.

It was a surprise package today at the St Patrick's Catholic Cathedral Awka, where high profile Anambra society men and women gathered to mark this year's Armed Forces Remembrance Day, when Queen Theresa Onuorah of the Egedege fame came out to ice the cake with her sonorous voice. Queen Onuorah who is 80 years old came to thank God for His blessings. But, the chief Shepherd of Awka Catholic diocese, Most Rev Paulinus Ezeokafor, just towards the pontifical high mass, in which Gov Willie Obiano was leading government officials and top army officers, and retired soldiers in the Armed Forces Remembrance Week, called up Octogenarian Theresa Onuorah before the altar, to greet the congregation.
