 October 1 protest: Ogun court restricts protesters to MKO Abiola Stadium, three other venues A High Court sitting in Abeokuta, Ogun State, has restricted members of the #FearlessInOctober protest groups in the state to the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta, Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu; Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu Ode, and Ansar-Ud-Deen Comprehensive High School, Ota. The court presided by Tajudeen.                    Troops of 22 Brigade Garrison and elements of 3 Battalion that went out on long range fighting patrol yesterday,monday 25th April  2016,to Gima village in Ngala Local Government Area made a startling discovery,Boko Haram terrorists now have new means of identification.The patrol came in contact with some elements of the Boko Haram that started escaping in disarray on sighting the team.However,they were able to apprehend 2 terrorists in their new styled uniform of green colour and use of ropes on their legs and necks.This is a new development in the ongoing clearance operations of the remnants of the Boko Haram terrorists in the north east.In addition,the patrol team recovered 1 Isuzu Canter lorry which found concealed with grasses,5 motorcycles and 2 bags of guniea corn.Other items recovered include 3 Dane guns,a Solar panel,3 bows and arrows.The arrested terrorists are currently being interrogated to further assist in the clearance operations.-Colonel Sani Kukasheka

PRIMARY & SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN ABIA STATE,EMBARK ON A WARNING STRIKE.

                  According to sources,Primary and Secondary school teachers in Abia state have embarked on a three days warning strike to press the state government to pay them their arears of salaries ranging from three to four months.The primary school teachers in the state are being owed salary arrears from February while their counterparts in the secondary school system are owed since January.The primary and secondary schools in the state were scheduled to reopen on monday April 18,2016,but was shifted one week ahead generally believed to be delay tactics by government to enable source for funds to pay the teachers.On Monday,April 25th after one week,the schools resumed with the arrears still pending,which forced the leadership of Nigerian Union of Teachers {NUT} in the state to order the teacher to embark on a three day warning strike to press home their demand.One more photo below.                                                                                                  

LAGOS STATE TO PAY IT'S STAFF,BULK ANNUAL LEAVE BONUS.

                                      Lagos State Head of Service,Mrs Ademola Olabowale has disclosed that the State Government has concluded plans to implement all requests made by the State Joint Negotiating Council for workers in the State including the commencement of the payment of bulk annual leave bonus for all the state government employees later in the year.The Head of Service added that the State Government has also approved the review of Staff Appraisal method,all aimed at maintaining a continued industrial peace in the State between the State Government and the varoius Unions within the public service.Mrs Olabowale made this disclosure on thursday at Year 2016 Bi-Annual Lagos State Public Service Joint Negotiating Council meeting held at Lagos Television complex,Agindingbi,Ikeja,adding that the periodic meetingg with the leadership of workers in the public service is a manifestation of the value government attaches to the welfare of its workforce.She stressed that effective

                       According to sources,Cote d'Ivoire will host an all night concert tribute this week to Congolese rumba star Papa Wemba,who died after collapsing on stage during a festival in Abidjan.The festival organisers said a ''big artistic wake would be held from Wednesday evening to the larger than life musician known as the king of Congolese rumba who fused Cuban and African rhythms.More than 100 national and international singers and musicians will succeed each other on stage from 9pm until dawn''.FEMA said in a statement.Family members were also heading to Cote d'Ivoire to prepare to repatriate Papa Wemba's body to his homeland,where Culture minister Banza Makalay described his death as a great loss for music''.Papa Wemba,one of the biggest names in Africa music for the past 40 years,died after falling ill on sunday during a performance at the Urban Music Festival of Anoumabo {FEMUA}.The cause of Papa Wemba's death is not yet know
