 Taraba: Police Commissioner Calls for Peaceful Coexistence Between Herders and Farmers The Taraba State Commissioner of Police, Ukachi Peter Opara, has urged for greater peace and understanding between herders and farmers in the state. During a meeting with the leadership of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Jalingo on Thursday, Opara highlighted the importance of dialogue and cooperation for long-term development. He emphasized that peaceful coexistence between these groups is crucial for their livelihoods and for fostering economic growth and stability in the state and the nation. Opara commended MACBAN for its readiness to collaborate with the police in promoting peace and security in Taraba. LADY STABBED TO DEATH IN ANAMBRA DURING MORNING EXERCISE IS SET TO BE BURIED MARCH 13,2019.{PHOTOS}.#RIP.

        The funeral of 28-year-old Miss Oluchukwu Ezeobi who was stabbed to death by unknown assailants during her usual morning early morning exercise in Awka, the Anambra state capital in the early hours of Tuesday, February 12, has been announced. She was stabbed several times when two boys accosted and ordered her to hand over her handset to them but she resisted. She was abandoned and left to struggle in the pool of her blood; while the assailants dispossessed her of her handset and ran away. She will be laid to rest in her hometown Nanka, Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State on March 13.More photos below.

       There was a massive jubilation as a young girl regained her freedom after being ki dnapped by suspected ritualists in Delta. It was gathered that the girl was on her way back from school ( days after the election on Feb, 23rd) when she was kidnapped in Isoko South local government area of the state. According to her, she stopped a motorcycle on her way home and was told by the bike man that he wanted to go and buy fuel from a petrol station which she agreed to. The motorcyclist also picked up another man whom he claimed he wanted to help. That was how she was kidnapped and taken into a bush. The teenage girl said on getting there, she saw two other girls in the ritualists’ camp who were blindfolded. She claimed after being forced to lie down and was about to be killed with a cutlass, the master allegedly prevented his boys from killing her as he said that her head is not good for sacrifice.        A newborn baby has been nicknamed "Baby Strong" by social media users after he grabbed the doctor's shirt seconds after he was born and refused to let go. The baby boy was born in Ph??ng Châu International Hospital in Vietnam. As the doctor attending to the baby was about to leave and get changed, the crying baby grabbed a string in his robe and held onto it. The doctor stood confused as he watched the baby crying while holding on to him with a grip that was unnaturally firm for a newborn baby.       The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos Zonal Office, on Monday, March 4, 2019, arraigned a banker, Oladimeji Balogun, before Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of the Special Offences Court, sitting in Ikeja, Lagos on a four-count charge bordering on stealing to the tune of N81,720, 000.00 (Eighty-one Million, Seven Hundred and Twenty Thousand Naira) only. One of the counts reads, “That you, Oladimeji Balogun, sometime betwe en May 30 and June 2018 in Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this honourable court, dishonestly converted to the use of Balogun Zainab Omohomo, the sum of N35, 000, 000. 00 (Thirty-five Million Naira) only, being the property of Finni Oluwakemi and committed an offence contrary to Sections 278 and 285 (1) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State No. 11, 2015.” He pleaded not guilty to the charges.       The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Gombe Zonal Office ON Monday, March 4, 2019 secured the conviction of Yusuf Usman and Sani Ahmed before Justice Abubakar Jauro of the Gombe State High Court on a two-count charge bordering on conspiracy and stealing. They were arraigned on February 27, 2019 and pleaded "guilty" to the charges. The trial judge, thereafter, fixed March 4, 2019 for conviction and sentencing. Count two of the charge reads: "That you, Yusuf Usman and Sani Ahmed at Gombe, in the Gombe Judicial Division of the High Court of Gombe State, with intent did dishonestly commit theft to with fraudulently convert the sum of $44,700 (Forty Four Thousand Seven Hundred Dollars) from one Abdullahi Nabunkari by falsely claiming the said sum was meant for the facilitation of a construction contract award by the Gombe State Government to your own use and thereby committed an offence contrary to and Punishable under Section 286 and 287 of the Pe...

     In memory of all those who lost their lives, and to the families whose lives were changed forever.” — Yesterday The Duke of Sussex attended a dedication ceremony and officially opened the Sousse and Bardo Memorial, dedicated to those who lost their lives and all those affected by the terrorist attacks in Tunisia on the Bardo Museum on 18 March 2015, and in the resort of Port El Kantaoui, Sousse on 26 June 2015. The centrepiece of the memorial is a sculpture titled ‘Infinite Wave’ made up of 31 individual streams, each one representing the British nationals who lost their lives in the Bardo Museum attack in March 2015 and the Sousse attack in June 2015. Following today’s dedication ceremony, The Duke met some of the families of those affected by the attacks.More photos below.
